Sizing K-12 market segments has always been a challenge. Traditional school market research methods, usually surveys of educators or school-market resellers, have been inconsistent. Now there is a new study underway that promises to shed light. The Software and Information Industry Association is gathering actual sales data from the companies that supply schools. The hope is that this method will produce a more accurate estimate of the size of key segments for educational technology products and services.
