Maya is a martial artist and fitness trainer, who truly walks the walk of fitness goals. In her own words....
"My name is Maya Freeman, I am a Certified Personal Trainer with over 10 years in the fitness, health and wellness industry. As a Master Trainer at a Fitness Center in Manhattan, I am used to various clientele. My clientele include the weight challenged (loss/gain), senior citizens, athletes, youth/teenagers, pre & post natal women and other special populations' clients. My unique experience is helpful in creating new, positive, wellness lifestyles for the diverse NY Metro Area clientele. In 2006, I decided to apply "Core Consciousness"©, my functional/core training techniques to my own routine. "Core Consciousness"© is a functional, core training technique that improves posture, body alignment & muscle tone using your body not weights. My weight gain was during a major life transition, a new baby. This new found determination and challenge was something we all go through as people. My story is a real one, I ate myself into 303 pounds and a size 22. Old habits die hard, I was still eating for 2 after the baby. Before I knew it my size 12 was a size 22 and my daughter was 2 years old. I had to do something about it, with determination I changed my life. As people we think, "Can I really do what seems impossible?" "Can I really lose this excess baby weight? For anyone with determination, the answer to both is YES!!! If you can move, you can lose!!!
