Two nights ago, I was in a protracted phone conversation with my friend Bobbi, from Colorado. We had just done a full tarot card reading and were now on the topic of The Stanley Hotel at Estes Park in CO.

She was quite excited that I had been planning on visiting the historical and haunted hotel because she, along with two other people had seen an actual ghost in the place. All three of them saw, at the end of the hallway under a small table, a young boy crouching and giggling. She described him wearing suspender pants and a white shirt... and they all noted that you could see through the boy!

Bobbie went on to tell me that there is a town in Colorado, called Cripple Creek that is home to another haunted hotel. Years ago, her and her husband booked a room in the authentic, unrestored old-west hotel. As soon as she sat on the edge of the bed, in the well lit room in the early evening, she felt an energy so powerful, she could only describe it as evil. Pure evil.

Needless to say, they did not stay that night and lost their deposit, but the story spurred our conversation. What she seemed to be describing is likened to the sense one might have if you are in an energy vacuum... the absence of what we simple humans consider the "God Mind". A disturbing feeling. An example we both related it to would be those rare times we get some bad news over the phone, announcing the death of a loved one. You feel the air get sucked from the room, the walls close in and your world begins to spin. It's as though you are in a tornado... an energy vortex.

Clearly, the news of someone passing is not a sign of evil, however it's my belief that we humans are very powerful things and when certain intense or shocking things happen to, or around us, we can create an energy vortex. It would also stand to reason that other beings could do the same to a lesser or greater extent. That being said, Bobbi and I decided that what she felt in that room that night, the cold empty, electric pall of evil and violent death was likely the remnants of a very powerful energy vortex from long ago that had been generated by some horrific episode that may have happened in that room, leaving in it's wake, an energy vacuum filled with what can only be described as evil.
