Halloween may be a night of fun, laughter and free candy for the kids but for law enforcement and private security officers, the next seven days will be filled with more ghosts, goblins, witches and tricks than with treats. During the past six years, numerous police and security officers have been killed in the line of duty during this devilish holiday, many others injured and millions of dollars worth of property damage committed. There are true dangers and risks associated with adults and teens dressed in costumes, masks and make-up which prevents idenitfying intent and subject identity. Tonight we will go through some safety tips for all officers on duty as well as safety tips for parents and kids who will celebrate this holiday all across the nation.
