    Vote for Nick Augustine for Shady Shores, Texas Town Council, Place 2

    in Politics

    Keeping an eye on the past while focusing on the present and future, we can ensure Shady Shores, Texas will be a great place to buy a home and raise a family.

    If elected to Town Council, my votes will be in the direction of:

    (1) Spending cuts and maintaining our savings and assets for the future;

    (2) Manageable growth that increases our land values and preserves our charm;

    (3) Increased resident communication and involvement in future decision-making.

    Voting for me, Nick Augustine, is a smart choice because I am educated, available, and interested in adding a new sense of balance and viewpoints to our council with my volunteer background and experiences.

    I operate a local marketing and public relations business, which allows a flexible schedule to talk with residents anytime they give me a call or want to meet to talk about their concerns. Being on Council requires a great deal of work and I have the time to get it all done.

    I hope to see you all at the Candidates Debate on Monday, April 20th at 7:00 p.m.

    Volunteer Experience:

    Chair, Town of Shady Shores Citizens’ Advocacy Committee on Revenue

    Jesus Christ and St. Augustine on "The Nature of Hell and Eternal Punishment"

    in Christianity

    TEXT: Mark 9:43-48

    This is the second message in our series on Hell leading up to Halloween. People today, even many Christians, do not like to talk about Hell. However, I believe that if lost people become convinced about the reality of Hell, they would trust Christ as Savior. And if saved people believed in the reality of Hell, they would tell lost people how to be saved from Hell.

    Today, we are going to consider the topic, "The Nature of Hell and Eternal Punishment" from St. Augustine. Augustine was a Christian theologian and philosopher who lived from 354 to 430 AD. He presided as the Bishop of Hippo in northern Africa (modern-day Algeria) for 34 years. He is well-known for his important works, "The City of God" and "Confessions."

Previously he served as the Associate Director/Coordinator of Black Youth & Young Adult Ministry for the CYO Youth & Young Adult Ministry Office. He is also on the Faculty of the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University of Louisiana. Ansel has served on the board of directors for the National Catholic Young Adult Ministry Association (NCYAMA) and the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM).  He began his career in ministry over 16 years ago when he became the youth minister at his home parish of St. Peter Claver in the Treme area of New Orleans, which he helped to rebuild following hurricane Katrina. He has presented workshops and keynotes around the country and has written various pieces related to ministry. Ansel presently serves on the board for the New Orleans Black Indian Alliance (NOBIA) and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the Wild Tchoupitoulas (Black Masking) Mardi Gras Indians.

    Burnell Cotlon is a veteran and a lifetime resident of the Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans, just an average guy with above average dreams who want for his neighborhood, the Lower 9th Ward, to catch up with the rest of New Orleans. Everyone sees Bourbon St and the Super Dome and think that New Orleans has totally recovered but it has not because the Lower 9th ward is a part of New Orleans. I have successfully open up the FIRST and only Barber Beauty as well as the first grocery store. Presently I am now working on opening up the first laundromat. If I have to rebuild my community one business at a time I will.

    Greetings from Exile plus intelligent design/teaching of creation

    in Performing Arts

    Yes, it's true, I am in exile.  I kept my Mormon husband, Mitt Omanjo, keeping a psychedlic artist named Henrick, part Russian and part SE European, at bay.  He loves to wear pinstriped suits from the 80's, preferably 3 piece.  I told him since he was fasionista outdated since 1982 that he needed be exiled and re-dressed with new spiritual clothing.  The dalai lama comes to visit frequently as well as Che Guevara's ghost on our island of St. Barts.  Henrik was supposed to go St. Kitts but Bell Campeau said there was a pseudo military operation there and it was off limits..  Bukowski pours the cocktails.  All the men distract me from my real vision, granted by St. Augustine and sometimes I have to push them to the shore.  My spiritual sister is Carson McCullers, my favorite writer, who is lost in a sea of hedonism.  Come join us as I remain in exile.  Jon will join us 1/2 way thru the fantasy.

    We will also talk about the revised laws of creation and evolution in certain states.

    Why God hate some people before he created them

    in Music

    In National Geographic world history has written some religious insanity, and such are unprecedented in the life of moderm intelligent human beings. Charlemagne waged battle in the name of Christianity. "It is our task," he said, with the help of divine goodness to defend the holy church of Christ  everywhere. The church's teachings and practices shaped the lives of Christian Europeans. As representatives of Christ on Earth, medieval popes eventually clamed patal supremacy, or authority over all secular rulers.  The text says:  In the Middle Ages the church's most important  achievement was  to Christianize the divers peoples of Western Europe. In 597, Pope Gregory 1 sent Augustine to convert the Anglo-Saxons in England. The medieval  Church developed its own boday of laws and administered  the sacraments, it had absolute power in religious  power. What is seriously and fatally wrong with this Church establishment, is that  it lacks real precedent, no occasion is cited for where the church got its initiative from, as to where the initial authority  derived.  How can the evil invation of Jews brings or yield us Jesus?  How do they come up with a spirit God that foreknew all things prior to making the creation. How can a God knowingly make man to sin, and beforehand hate and love some people over others?

    O YE DRYBONES : The Real Thanksgiving with special guest DR.DAVID IMHOTEP

    in Current Events

    Starting with the Pilgrims not only leaves out the Indians, but also the Spanish. In the summer of 1526 five hundred Spaniards and one hundred black slaves founded a town near the mouth of the Pedee River in what is now South Carolina. Disease and disputes with nearby Indians caused many deaths. Finally, in November the slaves rebelled, killed some of their masters, and escaped to the Indians. By now only 150 Spaniards survived, and they evacuated back to Haiti. The ex-slaves remained behind. So the first non-Native settlers in "the country we now know as the United States" were Africans.The Spanish continued their settling in 1565, when they massacred a settlement of French Protestants at St. Augustine, Florida, and replaced it with their own fort. Some Spanish were pilgrims, seeking regions new to them to secure religious liberty: these were Spanish Jews

    Beginning with 1620 also omits the Dutch, who were living in what is now Albany by 1614. Indeed, 1620 is not even the date of the first permanent British settlement, for in 1607, the London Company sent settlers to Jamestown, Virginia. No matter. The mythic origin of "the country we now know as the United States"
