    I know I can testify to feeling low sometimes, and not at my full potential. My mom is great for reading me when I'm upset or moody. Recently, I haven't been feeling like myself, and I figured I would do something about it. I love being my happy self, but sometimes things in life happen. Well I'm here to help give you coffee addicts some loving advice and ways that I help myself get out of a funk!

    Snack: The 4th meal of the day! Recipes and more with Toby Amidor

    How many meals did you eat yesterday? Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner used to be considered the only times we sat down and ate. Now we not only don’t sit down and eat at each meal, we have added an afternoon snack meal. Some even snack during mid-morning. Why is this? Our lifestyles have changed. Consequently, so have our eating habits. Unfortunately for some this means eating more than we need resulting in excess pounds. And, too often nutrient packed foods get lost in the grab and go snack shuffle. Toby Amidor RD to the rescue! Not only is she founder of Toby Amidor Nutrition, she is a food writer and has authored cookbooks, her latest being The Greek Yogurt Kitchen. As a busy working mom, Toby has had to figure out how to balance and spread daily wholesome food needs into four meals. She has sorted out what we should serve for on-the-run or sit-down snacks in order to satiate while nourishing hungry children and adults.     You don't have to fight to stay fit, all you need to do is make the decision to become healthier by exercising and eating like a champion.  Your CHOICES determine how healthy your body and brain will AGE.  Be realistic about what your body can do.  All activity should be age-appropiate.  SIDE BAR, check with your doctor when starting any new that pertains to your health. 


    For starters, lift weights and eat low fat yogurt, but not at the same time. Both are key to protect bones, which weaken as you age.  Drink before you're thirsty.  Your body needs to stay hydrated to function properly.  Get quality SLEEP...aim for 7-8 hours every night.  Quality SLEEP helps to maintain a healthy life into later years.
