Everything with Kathy B Indie Soul Saturdays Noel Gourdin & L. Young R&B Soul

    in Entertainment

    Noel Gourdin - R&B 2:15pm

Soul and R&B singer Noel Gourdin (Gor-Deen) emerged on the music scene with his number one hit song “The River” which stayed on the Urban AC charts at number one for 15 weeks! Noel’s childhood was not a traditional one; he was born in Brockton, MA but spent his summers with family Pachuta, Mississippi. The result is a man who is city to the heart but southern to the soul! Noel scored a deal with Sony Music at age 24, his first exposure to the vocal arts came in church and he was introduced to the larger audience of soul music by his father (who introduced him to the classics, such as Otis Redding) and his brother (who turned him on to the sounds of new jack swing). Noel is influenced by classic soul as well as the contemporary sounds of R&B and hip-hop. Making his music is a seamless blend of each genre.

    L. Young - R&B Artist 3:15pm

L.Young has established himself as an artist, writer, and performer. He has been credited for writing, music, and production for several artists, as well as platinum selling soundtracks. “My music is the bridge to all my dreams, and the starting point for my main purpose on this planet. Through music I'm learning who I actually am as a person,” says L.Young. Writing credits include the top 5 single and title track off Jessy J’s #1 Billboard debut Album, “Hot Sauce.” Keke Wyatt’s projects,  “Who Knew” and “Unbelievable.” L.Young also worked on the production of B2k’s “Babygirl” off of the “The Barbershop Soundtrack.”

“I want to make people FEEL something when listening to my music.

    Taya Envy - R&B Artist - 3:15pm

Born in Springfield, Illinois; raised in Aurora, Colorado. Taya Envy; why I gave myself this stage name is, the person I felt and began to see myself grow into had potential of no other. Taya is half of my name; Envy is what I see beyond my eyes. My craft comes from within a place I couldn't lead you to, though I can take you to that place within my music.

Being raised by my "Maw maw" I grew an "Old Soul", around the house all I heard was music. My Maw maw gets all the credit. She'd always told me I'd be a star all I have to do is believe in myself. I was inspired by Marvin Gaye he was a man of many words. When I'd listen to him speak I heard a story, I heard the world through his song. Still to this day I'm always wondering "What's Going On". My motto is ""Keep It Real". That's the only way to be, being who you are is what makes you the person you want to evolve to be.
