    Let's Stop the New Year's Resolution Game Playing.

    in Christianity

    How many of us have made a New Year's resolution only to start and stop soon after the new year began.  I used to say "I'm going to start my diet, look for a new job, clean out my closet, go to the gym to exercise, go to bed earlier", so forth and so on....you know the drill.

    About 20 years ago, I decided to stop that insanity.  Instead, I began to pray and ask the Lord to help me prioritize my life for each new year and seek Him for what is it He would have me focus on for the new year.  I asked Him first and sought His guidance, before coming up with my own plans.

    I learned that with spiritual goals, you don't have to feel defeated and go about kicking yourself in the shin because your commitment only lasted six weeks.  There is no failure in God.  If you fall down, all you have to do is get back up and earnestly pray and seek Him and find strength in Him to achieve your goals.

    Praying and knowing that our priorities come from Him makes all the difference in the world.  He is faithful and because of Him success is an option.  In Philippians 3:14, Paul wrote "I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus".  And, in I Timothy 1:5, Paul, wrote "But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith."  Spiritual goals speak to a higher calling and a desire to do what the Lord has for us, not just for each new year, but for the rest of our lives.  Is that a challenge?  Yes, you bet it is, but with Him all things are possible.

    Join me for our next podcast as we hear from our guest, Desireé M. Wilkins, MATL, and learn which will it be for her – another New Year's resolution or a fresh approach to setting spiritual goals?

    Romans 6:8-13 (KJV)
    8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
    9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
    10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
    11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
    12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
    13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

    Update on Innovations in 2-Stage Cold Press Juicing

    in Health

    The Pure Juicer team continues to perfect the engineering and details of our juicer. By the time yours is shipped, it will be even better than we expected.

    Today, we're discussing a particular change recently made to the pulping grids. One of David's goals is to make cooler pulp, which protects the produce's enzymes. Another is to maximize juice yield, and thus enzyme ingestion, from your produce.

    Listen is as David Feinberg tells us how and why juicing grids required more thinking to help you achieve the most from your cold press juicing.

    3rd--God brings us out of the storm and somehow we lose some Faith--(think about it, we are required to have small faith and many lose that in the storm)

    Be The Change You Want to See

    in Education

    How do you have a great spring semester?  You simply do the best you can.  I know that it really is easier said than done.  You can't will yourself into doing better, but you can make conscious decisions that are more likely to yield the results you want.

    Outcomes change when the process and inputs change.  While intelligence is malleable, it doesn't change on it's own.  As a veteran college student - which you are now - it's time to reflect on your first semester actions and outcomes.  With that new self-awareness you can keep those practices that serve you well and discard those that do not.  Let's talk about it during this episode of Tassel to Tassel.

    A MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY

    in Christianity

    We cannot use the Holy Spirit; the Spirit is to use us. Through the Spirit, God works in His people “to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13). But many will not submit to be led. They want to manage themselves. This is why they do not receive the heavenly gift. Only to those who wait humbly upon God, who watch for His guidance and grace, is the Spirit given. This promised blessing, claimed by faith, brings all other blessings in its train. It is given according to the riches of the grace of Christ, and He is ready to supply every soul according to the capacity to receive. – {RC 131.3}

    The impartation of the Spirit is the impartation of the life of Christ. Those only who are thus taught of God, those only who possess the inward working of the Spirit, and in whose life the Christ-life is manifested, can stand as true representatives of the Saviour. – {RC 131.4}

    God takes men as they are, and educates them for His service, if they will yield themselves to Him. The Spirit of God, received into the soul, quickens all its faculties. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the mind that is devoted unreservedly to God develops harmoniously, and is strengthened to comprehend and fulfill the requirements of God. The weak, vacillating character becomes changed to one of strength and steadfastness. – {RC 131.5}

    Fear: God has given us a sound mind and not that of fear!

    in Radio

    Fear seems so inconspicuous that we dont even notice it when its ruining our lives. Fear can slowly enter our hearts and minds and slows down our success. What i mean by that is, when you are afraid of something, you aren't able to do it, or if you do it, you are not confident or courageous about it therefore it doesn't yield those results of contentment, happiness and success. A fear of death can attack you, a fear of poverty can attack you, a fear of divorce, marriage, barreness, being succesful etc are all examples of the devils tricks on us so that we don't progress. However, the bible and God tells us that indeed " He has not given us the spirit of fear, but of a sound mind.." It means that when we are crippled in fear, we don't have a sound mind, and we don't act right.
