In this episode of Indie Book Rebels we're going to talk with author Mark Gardner, indie author of several works including: Paradox; a short story, and three compact novels, Body Rentals & Forlorn Hope and Escape.
Mark Gardner lives in central Arizona with his wife of 14 years, two school-age children and a black lab. Mark has a degree in computer systems and applications, and is currently attending Northern Arizona University, enrolled in the Applied Human Behavior program. Mark does his writing on an old Apple eMac and iPad utilizing Apple iWork Pages and iCloud.
We'll talk about his books, which cross several genres, from techo-thriller to dystopian. We'll discuss his journey as a writer, and his newest fantasy novel coming out soon called Champion Standing.

Author Nah'Sun was born in Lilbourn, Missouri, Nah’Sun would later move around the Midwest before temporarily settling in Chicago. An aspiring cartoonist, Nah’Sun never gave writing a thought until him and his mother relocated to the Cabrini Green Housing Projects in the early 1990’s.Finding the gift for writing while living in the most notorious housing development in Chicago proved that anyone can prosper no matter the trials they face. His writing would lead to him majoring in Journalism with a minor in English at a 4 year university in New York. He graduated with of cultivating his literary talent led him to publish his first novel in 2009.Nah’Sun struck fast in his first year in publishing by winning the 2009 Best New Male Writer Award at the 18th Annual UBUS Black Book Awards for a novel written under another nom de plume. Traveling throughout the Eastern Seaboard and Midwest built up his fan base. Taking a break from the industry during the first half of 2010 blazed the eternal fire he possessed since childhood. Regrouped with a new state of mind, Nah’Sun decided to write under his current name which means “the shine through negativity.” His muse appeared in the form of the curvy and sexy as Nah’Sun’s attraction to full figured women inspired him to pen the drama/erotic novel Thick When the Chances are Slim which was released in 2011..

Passionate about her chosen field, Kenni created her own company in 2012, Kenni Enterprises LLC, which specializes in teaching creative writing classes for youth and adults throughout the metro Atlanta area.Additionally, Kenni organizes and hosts an annual benefit event during National Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April entitled Let Your Voice Be Heard. Kenni feels it is important to get the word out about this growing epidemic in order to encourage men and women to raise their voices against this common and life-impacting crime.

Jai Darlene is an army brat who traveled all over the world with her family before settling down in Fort Wayne, IN. She later moved to Indianapolis and obtained a juris doctorate from Indiana University School of Law, where she discovered an aptitude for writing, earning herself a spot on her school’s Law Review. Author Byron Carey is a reformed drug distributer that served a ten year federal prison sentence was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He has transformed his way back into society as a truck driver and author. He was an outstanding basketball player that worked his way into the USBL basketball league in 2002. He attended Alvin Community College where he holds an Associates in Business Administration. He is the author of Nowhere 2 Turn with several more to come in the future.
Author Mohammed “Itchie-Mu” Anwo is an urban fiction author and the co-founder of Street Dedication Publishing which he started with his co-partner Hakeem Fleming. The first of six siblings, he quickly became involved with the streets at the age of 14, when his father, Mohammed Sr. was deported back to Africa due to a narcotic conviction. Author Itchie-Mu served 22 yrs of his life in prison, while sitting in his cell the last time he took a close and deep look into himself and he hated what he saw. Mohammad began reading novels to pass time, and then he came across a book called “How to Write Novels and Screenplays” and was instantly inspired. He began writing novels to both escape his reality and became good at it, at the same time, he vowed that once released he would never return. Author Mohammad “Itchie-Mu” Anwo is currently working on a host of novels and screenplays and looking forward to working with other authors with the hope of turning their novels into screenplays as well.
