This is I.T. (Inconvenient Truth)!!! – Gracie Gean Advocating for Chronic Pain

‘We All Matter in fighting for a cure!!!”  Gracie Gean began this journey in the gym while kickboxing. She injured both wrists and required a series of surgeries. One of those surgeries resulted in the onset of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, in her right hand, wrist, and forearm. CRPS is rated the most painful chronic pain disease known to modern medicine. She also discovered that she has underlying Lyme Disease and is now battling that disease as well.

Gracie Gean set out on a mission to learn as much as possible about these diseases and began creating virtual support groups along the way. During her six year journey through these complex diseases, she has gained a large network of peer patients all around the world. She has tried many cutting edge treatments and publicly shared her experiences. Gracie Gean has participated in public speaking events in the Midwest.

Caregiver's Guide to Self-Injury: Lori Vann, Counselor and Author

    in Psychology

One of our previous guests and my good friend, Olivia Quintanilla of Addiction Campuses, referred Lori Vann to Mental Health News Radio. Lori is a pro interviewee having been an invited guest on multiple radio and television shows. She specializes in many areas of behavioral health with a large focus on Self-Injury. This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart so I am honored to dive in with a field expert.

Please join Lori and I for an eye-opening discussion on this misunderstood behavior that not only affects our younger generation but is carried out, if not treated early, well into adulthood.

Please read the full blog article HERE

Some of the questions we cover on the show:

What is self-injury, isn't it just cutting?

Isn't this just a rebellious teen girl issue or something that Goth or Emo kids do?

When should a caregiver start to look for the possible signs of self-harm?

If a caregiver suspects that their child might be harming, what should they do next?

What are some of the mistakes that well-meaning parents make when reacting to the news that their child might be harming?

Won't the person just “grow out of it”?

Is self-injury more common now versus previous generations or it is we are just better able to recognize it?

Can we just blame the media for this increase in harm?

If they cut on their wrists, that must mean that they are suicidal, correct?

What are some of the reasons why someone would intentionally choose to harm themselves?

How I Avoided Prednisone Withdrawal And Its Side Effects

    in Health

A crazy thing happened to me last month. I ran out of prednisone and had to stop taking it, cold turkey.

Many of you know that you don't just go off prednisone cold like that. You're supposed to wean yourself slowly, or risk serious withdrawal symptoms.

In prednisone withdrawal, you can experience fatigue, flu-like symptoms, mood dips, inflammation and swelling, among other symptoms.

All of these symptoms flare up while your body gets used to making its own cortisol again.

Some quick background info on me: Seventeen years ago my diagnosis was autoimmune disease. Over the years, my symptoms have included rheumatoid arthritis in every joint of my body including my neck and rib cage, along with brain and nervous system symptoms, skin rashes, hormone imbalances, etc. Some doctors have told me that my autoimmune disease was triggered by lyme disease, and is now considered chronic lyme disease.

It's complicated, I know. What else is new?

So anyway, back to the prednisone. I was almost off of it, finally, after using it for a flare in symptoms that I experienced this past winter.

I ran out on a Friday. I thought I had another full bottle in the bathroom cabinet somewhere. But I could not find it anywhere! My prescription didn't have any refills and my doctor's office wouldn't be open until Monday.

I freaked out. This meant that my knees and fingers and wrists were going to swell. I was going to get night chills and a sore throat.

I went into emergency mode and...

Prior Civilization Covering the Land in North America

    in Religion

Two "diasporas", one at the tower of Babel, the others, the scattering of the Twelve Tribes, being lead by the hand of the Lord to the "nethermost part of the vinyard", twigs broken off and planted by the Lord through the means of his servants the prophets. One such came out of the Tower of Babel, whose language was NOT confounded. They wrote in the Adamic language, one portion of which was included in the sealed portion of the gold plates, the small portion of which Joseph Smith translated by means of the Urim and Thummim. Tablet stones found in Michigan by multitudes of people at the turn of the century, while plowing fields, digging basements, along with mine shafts, 10,000 mounds in Ohio alone. A video of one collection (Soper Savage) of these can be seen here. There are at least 30 other collections. Mystic symbol seen by riverboat captains for over a hundred years. All artifacts contain the same "mystic symbol" comprised of a representation of the five spikes strategically driven into the palms, wrists and crossed feet of Jesus' body for its support. C14 dating of carbon from copper smelting fires placed at 2250 BC. The people knew of future events yet to transpire, thus trashed by Darwinist for upseting their wicked and corrupt world-view, saith the Lord.

Are You Being MANIPULATED Via a Toxic Relationship???

    in Christianity

Due to the ratings record breaking  Are You Being LOVED or Manipulated?  First ‘cast on November 14, 2014 @10:00 AM  on blogtalkradio.com/drmsw54, Dr. Williams is now revisiting it by speaking to the issue of  TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS.  Isn’t it interesting that even the brightest amongst us can fall into the trap of poisonous/toxic relationships?

Such SICK relationships, are, but not limited to:

    Family Relationships
    Parent/Child
    Boyfriend/Girlfriend
    Employer/Employee
    Social Relationships
    So-called “Friendships.”
    Marriages
    Business arrangements
    Co-worker situations

The list is endless. It’s one thing to not know that a relationship is poisonous. However, it is another to be in one and to be trapped in it. Therein the relationship is held tighter by invisible chains that cut into the wrists and ankles of your soul!  Dr. Williams is will now speak to the issue in his customary clear, as well as succinct Biblical manner.

    Sunday Morning Referee: Episode 2

    in Sports

Every Sunday morning at 11:30am EST (8:30am PST) LT the Commish will join GSCeltic live for a podcast about our league, the Fantasy Football Freaks. Getting your team ready for the weekend in fantasy football. We'll also discuss Roger's League (the NFL), review last week's picks, make this week's picks and talk all things sports from Michigan's West Coast to the Golden Coast and even back East.

Friends since N'diaye introduced us back in '93, GSCeltic and LT have been discussing sports and chasing a higher level wherever and whatever the game. Broken noses, sprained wrists, turned ankles and the Mailman's ruptured patella haven't stopped our love of the game. We're on the sidelines holding yard markers, at practice running wind sprints, throwing penalty flags and sitting in the studio talking about football. JW handles the studio (sleeps on the floor) with absolutely no clue.
