There’s a reason uber-producer Mark Burnett picked Diann Valentine to host his Wedding Day reality series: She’s got a passion for making brides and grooms happy. “We travel around the country and find deserving couples who, for one reason or another face circumstances that prevent them from having the wedding of their dreams,” the celebrity events planner tells Buzzworthy Radio host NaVell Lee. “So we show up and in four days, we supersize it and make it bigger and better than anything they could have ever imagined. And we make the whole process simple for them.”
How far out should couples order their wedding cake? “That all depends on the difficulty of the design, Mary Winslow of Sinful Wedding Confections tells The Wedding 101 Show host David Rothstein. “The season you want to get married in is also a key factor. So a general range for the height of a wedding season—between Memorial Day and Labor Day—would be five to six months. But if you’re getting married in February, you could easily book your baker in January, because that’s such a slow season.”
Call it Ken-do attitude. “I started dressing my Barbie dolls when I was 10 years old,” bridal designer Therez Fleetwood, who’d go on to create the only Afrocentric costumes ever worn by Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Walt Disney World, tells Wealthy Sistas host Deborah Hardnett. “So my mother sent me to sewing school. But I wasn’t a big fan of that, and quit after three months. Then my mother bought me a sewing machine, but I didn’t do anything with it for about three years. Then something hit me and I took it out one day and started sewing non-stop. I’ve been at it ever since.”
There’s no doubt the world’s getting smaller. And in that process, interfaith marriages are becoming more common. But how to navigate the tricky territory that comes with this trend? “The single most popular piece of content on our site is the Guide to Wedding Ceremonies for Interfaith Couples,” Ed Case, CEO of Interfaith Family, tells Wedding Planning Radio host Jeannie Uyanik. “That explains a lot about Jewish wedding traditions and how to incorporate other traditions into a Jewish ceremony. And our highest traffic month is December, because couples have to figure out what to do about Christmas and Hannuka. The best advice I can give to the families of interfaith couples who are coming together for the first time is to be accepting of the bride and groom’s choices. Just go forward on that basis.”
Get decked out for your big day for under a hundred bucks? Impossible, you say? Not according to Unik Apparel founder Rose Reyes. “The wedding dress you saw on my blog was just $44.99. I got it from Target,” she tells Make Me Over, Eb! host Ebony Looney. “I went online and found this really simple gown. And for someone having a small wedding or a second wedding, it’s surpisingly classy. And I paired the dress with some shoes from Target as well, which cost just $11.99. They’re extremely comfortable, which is always helpful because most brides spend hours running around socializing.”

STRESS...getting in touch with your feelings about something specific is the beginning to the road of cartharsis.
Our bodies are a triangle...STRUCTURE-EMOTIONAL-PHYSICAL.
HUMOR is intellectual, a way of viewing the World. We view 'funny things' differently.
LAUGHTER is UNIVERSAL. The process involves every major system in the body. It's spiritual, physiological and emotional. LAUGHTER does not need a reason to be, it's ureasonable, illogical and irrational and it exits for its own sake.
Health benefits of LAUGHING...Many over the age of 90 attribute...etc.
All Hurricanes originate off the coast of West Africa from the cape Verdi Islands. The scared Mer-Ka-Ba (water house) and the Menet are the Power of Spiritual connections between Egyptian historical events and the Power of the storm called Katrina is vivid to those of us who study the mystics. As I was speaking yesterday about the spirituality of Black People in New Orleans I realized that most people haven’t a clue of what true African Spirt is. So I am going to take it way back to that time when we worshipped the concepts of our ancestors we will compare the Mississippi Delta to the Nile Delta. To our Ancestors, the time of the Menet Necklace or the beaded collar, in New Orleans this culture is alive but buried. Did it ever occur to Black People who created the MARDI GRAS to coincide with the Epiphany or the Theophany means in the Greek language “Vision of God”. The beads thrown during the celebration are representative of the Menet given by Thoth to Hathor or the Daughter of Ra who was the EYE of Ra. " The deaths of so many Black People at the time before Katrina can be compared to Hathor warrior daughter of Ra who killed so many human beings it was said that she walked in Egypt and the blood of men was as high as her thigh high boots. To stop her from killing all of man Ra gave her in marriage to his most valiant warrior Horus or Thoth in the Greek language. The word Theophany derived its meaning from the legend from our ancestors of the Menet Necklace of Hathor given to her by Horus as a symbol of peace and unconditional love. She is represented as the River for it is said that it was a river of blood of men that she walked through. This is the same spirit called Ochoun that lives in the rivers of the world by the Youraba and it is a more ancient version. The Mississippi Delta the Nile Delta?
