Chazz Woodson is one of the most electrying players in lacrosse. A midfielder for the Florida Launch, he was drafted as the 19th overall pick in the 2005 MLL collegiate draft. After brief stints with the Long Island Lizards and the Boston Cannons, Chazz played for the Los Angeles Riptide until the team folded between the 2008 and 2009 seasons. During that time, he was a 2008 MLL All Star Selection where he won the freestyle competition. From 2009 to 2010 Chazz played for both the Chic
It now seems only a matter of days before Mike Woodson becomes the first coach fired in the 2013-14 NBA season.
As reported by our New York-based columnist, Michael Scotto, Woodson and his assistants are expecting to lose their jobs by the All-Star break, with Herb Williams taking over for the remainder of the season.
What could prevent it from happening? It might take a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road Sunday to keep the axe from falling.
Why is it happening?
That is Topic A of this around-the-NBA discussion on the Big O Show on AM 640 Sports in Miami from Friday afternoon.

4C- NY Knicks fire Mike Woodson.
I already told you yesterday that Mike Woodson needs to lead the Knicks into the playoffs to keep his job. No easy task, but when Phil Jackson says repeatedly that he expects this year's team to make the postseason, the bar has been set.
And if the Knicks fail?
Well, there will be a new coach at the helm, and since Jackson is not ingratiated with the larger coaching fraternities out there, you can cross out names such as Jeff Van Gundy, Stan Van Gundy and George Karl.
Steve Kerr's name has been thrown out there, and he is an intriguing candidate because he knows the triangle system. But two other coaches are known as system coaches, and both have stellar resumes.
They are Jerry Sloan and David Blatt.
David Who, you ask? He's only the most successful coach in European basketball, and has been for quite some time. Plus, he went to school and played at Princeton with Knicks GM Steve Mills.
More on Blatt, Sloan and other Knicks items in this podcast with Moke Hamilton on SNY.

Knicks coach Mike Woodson likes to use Carmelo Anthony as his power forward. We learned that much last year.
So it should be safe to assume that Metta World Peace will be the Knicks' starter at small forward, correct?
Well, it's never that easy with Woodson, who never settled on a set rotation throughout last season -- even in the Knicks' final game of the playoffs when Amar'e Stoudemire and Jason Kidd spent the final 24 minutes watching from the bench.
Woodson has a logjam at the 4 spot, with no set role as of this point for either Stoudemire or Andrea Bargnani. The best guess is that one of them is going to be the 7th man and one will be the 8th man -- although that might force Bargnani to play out of position at small forward, where he would be even more of a defensive liability than he already is.
Our conversation takes us to the man who is known as "The Father of Black History" Carter G. Woodson. We will look at his life, and discuss his contributions to us fully understanding OUR HISTORY and growing appreciation to our culture.
I look forward to having you join the conversation.
