However peculiar Ennis Whelan has been for the first six years of his life, not until the day he found the bird, did the degree of his strangeness become so tangible.
Dr. Owen Whelan and his wife Sarah, both Irish immigrants, have been living the American dream, as well as raising seven bright and expressive children. Their youngest Ennis, however, has since birth, been a bit of a mystery. Ennis was always small, meek and frightfully odd but there is so much more to him than anyone could have imagined. His sister Teagan grows increasingly suspicious of his behavior but their mother dismisses her claims, until the day he starts healing people. When Ennis ultimately reveals the gift of sight, he questions his father about visions of his past, including his voyage to America in 1844. Owen prayed he'd never have to share those tragic memories but he will share them, when he realizes he has no choice. Ennis' life may depend on it.

Guest host Kendell Shaffer will be on board for another WriteSpa treasure! The topic: The Research Pool: how deep will you jump? Kendell, a screenwriter, YA author and avid researcher will be interviewing Heather E. Ash. The two will discuss the lengths they have gone while researching stories.
Heather has worked as a staff writer for STARGATE SG-1 and GLORY DAYS. Her one-hour original script SQUARE ONE was chosen by Written By magazine (the trade publication for the Writers Guild of America) as one of its top five unproduced drama pilots and earned sixth place in the film/television script category of the 2013 Writer's Digest Annual Competition. A graduate of Northwestern, she's taught screenwriting to college students and math tomiddle schoolers. Her current projects include a horror feature film and a crime novel. Join hosts Tom Riddell and guest co-host Lisa Lea as they welcome author Carol Murto to The Writers Lounge. Sit back and relax as Carol discusses what it's like to be a writer and she will also talk to us about her book: Soul Awareness.
Soul Awareness is a perfect title for this book. Carol Murto shares with us her experiences with her clients and guides us along the conduit of our human existence as she endeavors to teach us about that rich area of our being which we tend to ignore way too much- our soul. Being aware of a life giving source which can ultimately and thoroughly enrich our lives both now and for eternity may be hard for some people to comprehend but this book clearly points out, and illustrates through real life examples, that it can be done and the techniques can transform our entire being and existence. There is much information in this book that can be backed up from other sources and some of the content pointed out some facts that I wasn't aware of-which I found to be quite interesting. I learned about "Contact comfort" and the idea that if our souls aren't properly nourished and if we don't receive the benefits of touch at a very young age- we can literally die. This condition is known as Marasmus and it is based on a case study where babies actually died from lack of touch- after being born As you move through the pages of this book you will also learn about chakra- our spiritual source- and how Carol works with her clients to define those areas which are attached to our soul. "Soul injury" is discussed and we learn how to heal and break away from the negativity that is heaped upon us in our lives by soul injuries that can sometimes be passed from generation to generation.

She soon finds that she isn’t seen as a nerdy, shy quiet school girl anymore- she is treated like royalty by people on this new planet- as a strangely familiar romance erupts as she finds herself in love with a prince.
