SHUT THE DOOR OF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN
How Are You Going to Get to Heaven if the Door is Closed?
New International Version
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.
New Living Translation
"What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people's faces. You won't go in yourselves, and you don't let others enter either.
English Standard Version
“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.
New American Standard Bible
"But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
King James Bible
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
The key to knowledge is the TRANSLATION of words and because of the incorrect TRANSLATION the doors to the true Kingdom of Heaven is CLOSED!!!
Focusing on the words of Jesus! What He said matters more than what you or I say, and more than what your pastor or favorite Bible teacher says.
It doesn't stop with focusing on the words of Jesus in the scriptures either. He IS the "WORD OF GOD", not the Bible. We need to learn to hear the ongoing Voice of the Spirit of the Messiah, that which He promised could comfort and guide us into all truth. Yes, I meant could, because His promise is conditional. It's up to us individually, whether it will actually happen ...
10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Isaiah 3 v 10
11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him. Isaiah 3 v 11
01 For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem (US of Americas) and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water, Isaiah 3 v1
When the Ark of the Convenant is brought into the camp of the Israelite army, it says this:
1 Samuel 4:5New Living Translation (NLT)
5 When all the Israelites saw the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord coming into the camp, their shout of joy was so loud it made the ground shake!
Can you imagine if the Christian church today had that level of joy in the presence of God, how it could impact society in a huge way? What reasons do we have to feel joy in our lives?
One of the most beautiful passages in the Bible is in this chapter. It has been used in probably millions and millions of weddings:
Ruth 1:16-17New King James Version (NKJV)
16 But Ruth said:
“Entreat me not to leave you,
Or to turn back from following after you;
For wherever you go, I will go;
And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people,
And your God, my God.
17 Where you die, I will die,
And there will I be buried.
The Lord do so to me, and more also,
If anything but death parts you and me.”
Ruth 2:10-12New King James Version (NKJV)
10 So she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?”
11 And Boaz answered and said to her, “It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before. 12 The Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”
God gives Israel the kind of king the world looks for -- he was the most handsome and the tallest. When Samuel tells him he is chosen by God to be the hope of Israel, he exhibits humility. But we find, as his story unfolds, that something may be lacking in this first human king of Israel.
1 Samuel 10:6New Living Translation (NLT)
6 At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person.
The children of Israel are waiting for the opportunity to replace God Almighty as their King, it would seem.
1 Samuel 8:5-9New Living Translation (NLT)
5 “Look,” they told him, “you are now old, and your sons are not like you. Give us a king to judge us like all the other nations have.”
6 Samuel was displeased with their request and went to the Lord for guidance. 7 “Do everything they say to you,” the Lord replied, “for they are rejecting me, not you. They don’t want me to be their king any longer. 8 Ever since I brought them from Egypt they have continually abandoned me and followed other gods. And now they are giving you the same treatment. 9 Do as they ask, but solemnly warn them about the way a king will reign over them.”
One week after another BYB podcast full of talk of what's wrong with the Tigers, Al and HookSlide revel in their undefeated week, ask what has changed, are impressed by Rick Porcello and J.D. Martinez, appreciate Torii Hunter's honestly, and wave back at Ian Kinsler.
Bless You Boys Podcast 117 was recorded June 27, 2014, has a running time of 56 minutes, and features Al Beaton and HookSlide.
Things were looking dire last week. The Tigers had lost 3 straight to the Royals, dropping 1 ½ games back and appeared well on their way to 3rd place. Seven days later, the Tigers have 7 wins in a row, and are back to 4 1/2 games up in the Central. But what's changed in one week?
Rick Porcello is off to the best start of his career. Thursday night he tossed his first career shutout and second complete game, raising his record to 10-4 and lowering his ERA to 3.41.
Dave Dombrowski tells MLB Network Radio the team is confident Joe Nathan has turned the corner, and that if the Tigers do add bullpen help ahead of the trade deadline, it'll likely be for a seventh- or eighth-inning guy.
J.D. Martinez is named AL Player of the Week, and continues to bash the living Hell out of the ball.
The Tigers' corner outfield positions are getting crowded. Torii Hunter sees the writing on the wall and tells the media he is willing to take a part-time role if that's best for the team.
Ian Kinsler homered in his first at-bat in his return to Arlington, then waved to the Texas bench when running to first (with a huge smile on his face).Flying under the radar is Kinsler's bat, which has been just as hot as the Tigers named Martinez.
Tigers have reacquired Daniel Schlereth, assigning him to Toledo.
All that, and more!
There are certain things that come to mind when we think of of the life of Christ, but in the new testament the apostle paul instructs to be or to become more like Christ. But what does that actually mean? Join Bishop-Elect Lawrence F. Wright on Greater is in YOU radio to find out exactly how we are to achieve such a great thing. #GodStrong
