This election has been described the most intriguing with the opposition Labour Party suffering astounding losses particuarly in Scotland where it lost almost all its seats and has also produced the youngest lawmaker a twenty year old Scottish student since 1667. Politics student Mhairi Black, representing the pro-independence Scottish National Party (SNP), took Paisley and Renfrewshire South, a constituency outside Glasgow, from Douglas Alexander, Labour's election chief and a former Cabinet minister.
