    Forager and writer JJ Murphy has been eating wild foods since she could walk. Growing up on a family farm in Connecticut gave her many opportunities to forage yards, gardens and woods. After earning a Masters degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Kansas, she moved to New York City and discovered urban foraging.


    JJ writes The Joyful Forager column for the Shawangunk Journal in New York’s Hudson Valley. Her articles have appeared in the publications Wildness Magazine, Outdoors Unlimited, and Spores Illustrated.
