Many people still believe that drugs and Bobby Brown were the main reasons "The Voice" departed from earth. A new book, "What really killed Whitney Houston"? gives us a powerful and insightful explanation that can help many of us understand "unconscious loyalties" that are keeping us from suceeding in life. This book gives us a look at Whitney's young life and the conflicts in her older life that kept her insecure and struggling to be a woman full of life, health and confidence.

Koko Jones has a story to tell. On Who's That Lady, her new album dropping from Motema Music on November 18, the percussionist reveals her hidden abilities as a lyricist and songwriter. While building on the artistic excellence and percussive brilliance of her previous world-jazz releases, Tenth World and Tenth World Live, Who's that Lady delves deeply into the 1970s and 80s soul and R&B crucible which first formed the percussionist/producer's prodigious musical vision, and at the same time renders a timeless musical narrative of this extraordinary woman's past, present and future.
A musician first and foremost, Koko - who was previously known as 'Bujo' Kevin Jones - is a transgender woman of color. That identity, as integral to her being as is her musical talent, has propelled her to a parallel role as an activist and a voice in the trans community. In addition to Koko's ground-breaking work as an interventionist at the Center for HIV Education Studies and Training (CHEST) at Hunter College, where she is a part of T-Talk, a project delivered by trans women for trans women that seeks to reduce sexual health risk, substance use, and internalized stigma affecting the community, she frequently speaks at events, and recently gave a TEDx talk at Seton Hall University and delivered a lecture on Current Issues in the Trans Community at Columbia University Teachers College. She is also an active member of Trans Women of Color Collective (TWOCC).
The November release of Who's That Lady happens to coincide with the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20.

When artists Beth Whitney and Bradford Loomis began writing together, they had no idea their casual co-writing experiment would blossom into the much anticipated album The Banner Days (releasing August 23rd on MTS Records). That first night, they wrote “My Beloved” in two hours. And after a few more writing sessions, it was clear to both, that these songs merited a bold decision.
Ultracycling legend Lon Haldeman joins us to talk about his recent PAC Tour in Ghana as well as the upcoming Elite PAC Tour.
The fastest transcontinental bike tour ever! PAC Tour's first Elite Tour was in 1995 and has been going strong ever since!
Daily miles range from 140 to 196 miles per day. Riders completing 100% of the tour will qualify for the Race Across AMerica. This extremem cross country bike tour intended for the most serious riders who are looking for a very challenging ride across America. All riders must routinely ride 200 miles in 10-12 hours in training. An Elite Team Division is being offered for two riders to share participating by individually riding 80-120 miles each day.
This Elite Tour begins in San Diego, California with moderate daily distances the first three days while crossing the desert. We hope all riders will be able to gradually work themselves into shape before they begin the longer days for the remainder of the tour. The route will use a combination of good cycling roads we have ridden for many years.
This is not an easy cross-country route following the boring flat lands of the Southern states. We will intentionally climb many steep mountain grades in Arizona and New Mexico. In the eastern states we will ride many hilly days including the notorious Talimena Parkway which includes many 15% grades.
This cross country bicycle tour is only for the best riders. Do not come on this tour if you are looking for an easy ride across the country. Even the fastest riders will be tested to their limits on most days.
