Join World Footprints as we explore American History through the voices and houses of the country's Founding Fathers with award-winning author Myron Magnet. In his book, The Founders at Home: The Building of America, 1735 - 1817, Magnet says that among all of our founders accomplishments the American Revolution has been the country's only enduring success. We are also going to review American History from another angle--America's Whiskey Trail. Saturday Evening Post contributor Todd Pitock will take us to the birth places of America's native spirit. Finally, we will revisit our coverage of the Sochi Paralympic Games with a post script segment. You will meet another favorite of the Games when we introduce two-time Silver Medalist Mark Bathum and his guide Cade Yamamoto. Mark and Cade won their medals in the Men's Super G and Super Combined Alpine events for the visually impaired.

...Don't miss this LIVE Broadcast! - joining me tonight is this most wonderful individual who took her Battle with Drugs and Alcohol to another level - overcoming monumental odds, to become an Advocate for RECOVERY. Bianca is WELL KNOWN and RESPECTED by All the High RIsk Youth/Young adults that she works with as well as City, (Chicago) County (Cook) and State of Illinois elected Officials.
After her family disowned her - she lived in the projects on the west side of Chicago where the violence was so bad that on a daily basis- bullets would ricochet past her head. She had 5 children whom she never raised and had not seen in over 16 years. She saw many young people killed from gun violence. She completely lost touch with reality and believed that things would never get better. In January of 2011, her father died while she was in prison. She never got to say goodbye to him and realized that she would die alone in the streets if she didn't change her life. When she was released from prison in August of 2011, she was paroled to a Chicago Recovery Home where she lived for almost a year learning Basic Skills to Stay Sober and become self-sufficient. Through the Grace of GOD & the rooms of A.A. she began to have hope. Bianca has been SOBER since May 8th, 2010.
Tune into this show and hear first hand from her own mouth, how she battled her addicitions, and came out on top - now using hwer "Experience, Strength, and HOPE" to help others overcome challenges of their own...YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS THIS BROADCAST!

IN THIS SECOND EPISODE OF OUR SERIES, JOHNNY REB AND BILLY YANK WILL DISCUSS THE DIFFICULTY THAT THE NEW UNITED STATES WENT THROUGH IN TURNING THE CONSTITUTION AND ITS BILL OF RIGHTS INTO A WORKING GOVERNMENT. MANY PITFALLS WERE PRESENT AND THERE WAS MUCH DIVISION, BUT AMERICA MANAGED TO WORK ITS WAY THROUGH INTO AN EFFECTIVE BLEND OF IDEAS WHICH CAME TO WORK.
WE WILL BLEND A LITTLE HUMOR WITH SOME HISTORY AS WE DETAIL SOME OF THE CRITICAL ISSUES OF THE TIMES, MANY OF WHICH CONTINUE ON TODAY. INCLUDED ARE:
OPERATING THE NEW GOVERNMENT UNDER AN EXECUTIVE WITH A LEGISLATURE AND JUDICIARY OF CO-EQUAL AUTHORITY.
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NATIONAL BANK AND CREDIT.
CUSTOMS, DUTIES AND EXCISE TAXES (INCLUDING THE WHISKEY REBELLION IN PROTEST)
THE ONGOING BATTLE OF WILL BETWEEN THOMAS JEFFERSON AND ALEXANDER HAMILTON.
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE UNITED STATES (JUDICIARY ACT)
CONTINUED OPPOSITION AND TROUBLE WITH BRITAIN.
AMERICA AND THE FRENCH REVOLUTION
AND MUCH, MUCH MORE.
WE WILL RELATE MANY OF THE ISSUES AND PROBLEMS FOUND THEN WITH PROBLEMS TODAY, A PRIME MEASURE OF HOW HISTORY DOES INDEED REPEAT ITSELF.
HOPE YOU'LL JOIN US. I PROMISE NOT TO GET IN A DUEL WITH BILLY YANK. SHOW STARTS PROMPTLY AT 9:02 WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
On April 12, 2014, Axe set of on the ride of his life, setting the record for the fastest cross-country motorcycle ride at just 33 hours and 10 minutes. That's 33:10:00. I've heard of people driving across the U.S. in 3 days, roughly 1000 miles per day. But the idea of one person, riding a motorcycle no less, crossing the U.S. in 33 hours and 10 minutes is ... crazy.
But one man's crazy is another man's day in the office.
"I'm an addict," Axe said. "It started with whiskey and girls when I was younger, and over time it evolved into adrenaline addiction. Instead of running from death, I decided to chase it at full speed for the high. Addicts never recover; they just trade one craving for another."
Axe doesn’t suffer from addiction. He relishes it. Ever since an open heart surgery tested his metal, everyday challenges just haven’t been enough. In Axe's new book, "No Limits No Regrets: Bouncing Off The Redline of Adrenaline Addiction," he details the real time struggles he endured as he rode his modified BMW S1000RR motorcycle from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic, and the incredible feeling at the end.
"Success is a function of desire. If you want something badly enough, you can do almost anything. We live in a very risk-adverse society, but this is a story about taking risks and being accountable for the outcome of those risks." - Axe
Tabatha Pope, host of The Librarian on Authors on the Air, welcomes romance author Meghan Quinn.
Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if "It's Raining Men" starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped. Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing... enter her first novel, Caught Looking. Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze! Find out more about Meghan here,
Host of "The Librarian", Tabatha Pope, can be found at All For Love of the Word and Facebook.
