...a Milestone of 20 years of continuous Sobriety? Join me as I approach one week closer to my 20th anniversary - free of alcohol consumption, reviewing what it was like when I was out there drinking, what happened to get me to stop drinking, and what life is like now - 20 years later after complete abstinence from drugs or alcohol. Staying close to and being invol;ved with the 12 Step Program - has certainly been an important factor in keeping me on the straight and narrow. What would it take for you to find SERENITY free from the effects of your Addictive personality and free from your "DRUG OF CHOICE" whether it be Alcohol, Pot, Presciption Meds, Gambling, one thing I have learned - is that "I DID NOT HAVE A DRINKING PROBLEM" - I HAD A THINKING PROBLEM - and once I stopped using alcohol - I had to face the effcts of my Stinking thinking and work to clear the debris of my past to keep it out of my future.
While my life may not necessarily be the poster child portrait of being Clean and Sober - it most certainly is one I am proud to be living, one filled with Gratitude to my Higher Power - (With Whom I choose to call - JESUS CHRIST). Join me every Sunday as my journey intoSobriety continues and meet some of the wonderful people I meet and interact with on almost a daily basis, as we deal with "LIFE ON LIFE'S TERMS"
Our call in number is 323-580-5755 and join us LIVE every Sunday evening from 7 to 9 PM CST. Valley Shine was distilled from a love of whiskey, cats and bluegrass music. In early 2014, Jenna Blake was in search of a writing partner with an appreciation for folk music who shared her passion for songwriting. Hailing from Louisville, KY, Jenna was influenced by traditional bluegrass music and roots rock like CCR, CSNY and Joni Mitchell. By a sheer stroke of luck, Jenna discovered Sam Sobelman and the two met up to see if there was any musical chemistry. After a couple of writing sessions influenced by whisky, laughs and some banjo pluckin', they quickly discovered their songwriting styles were a perfect match.

...Yes, Joe will be returing next Sunday with a deeper explanation into what his journey was like when he started into ACOA - Adult Children Of Alcoholics. Joe's story isn't that unique- however it is his story and it is his journey through these experiences that make Joe the person, the man he is today. Just as what experiences WE all had that makes us who we are today. Some of us had long drawn out challenging lives, some had simplistic, seemingly Beautiful Lives, yet we all turned to some sort of addicitve behavior or "DRUG OF CHOICE" such as Alcohol, Cocaine, Heroin, Prescription meds, Smoking tobacco, Chewing tobacco, sexual addictions, ography, food issues, etc... anything that would give us some sort of temporary escape from the day to day problems that seemed unsurmountable. Join us LIVE as we discuss these & many more issues, & what we did to help us overcome our "DEMONS" finding a path into recovery & somehow managing to stay focused and on target regardless of what the world is doing around us. Who is YOUR HIGHER POWER? While Mine is Jesus Christ - you can identify any thing or any body as yours - because this is a journey and NOT a destination - We may swap stories and ideas along they way - ultimately finding Serenity when we turn OUR WILLS and OUR LIVES over to the care of God as we understand Him.
Join us EVERY Sunday evening from 7 to 9 Pm - and CALL-IN to share your own thoughts, experiences, or ideas, relating to RECOVERY from ADDICTIONS. Our Call-in Number is 323-580-5755. We welcome new callers & new perspectives. Can't make the show - we are archived for listening on a later date. Email me your thoughts, suggestions, etc... My personal email is email@example.com I look forward to hearing from you soon.OH - and YES, Joe will be back with more of his own Experience, Strength, and Hope. I sure hope YOU can make it!
Join World Footprints as we explore American History through the voices and houses of the country's Founding Fathers with award-winning author Myron Magnet. In his book, The Founders at Home: The Building of America, 1735 - 1817, Magnet says that among all of our founders accomplishments the American Revolution has been the country's only enduring success. We are also going to review American History from another angle--America's Whiskey Trail. Saturday Evening Post contributor Todd Pitock will take us to the birth places of America's native spirit. Finally, we will revisit our coverage of the Sochi Paralympic Games with a post script segment. You will meet another favorite of the Games when we introduce two-time Silver Medalist Mark Bathum and his guide Cade Yamamoto. Mark and Cade won their medals in the Men's Super G and Super Combined Alpine events for the visually impaired.

Custer's Luck Radio Show host Jean Barto reads from Chapter VIII of "Tenting on the Plains." After surviving the flood at Fort Hays, Kansas , the Army orders Libbie Custer to leave this isolated frontier post and return to the relative safety of Fort Harker.
Our guest this morning is Demi Stevens, proprietor of Ortega 120 and Hey 19.
As one of the most renowned mixologists in the hospitality industry, Demi is a force to be reckoned with. She has successfully created cocktail menus that utilize unique ingredients that complement her restaurant’s dynamic food menus.
Demi’s first personal restaurant endeavor, Ortega 120 located in Redondo Beach, currently houses the “Best Classic Margarita,” as determined by LA Weekly. Ortega 120 has also been honored with awards such as “Diner’s Choice Winner” “Best Dinner Dates on a Budget,” and “Top 10 Mexican Restaurants in Los Angeles.”
Her most recent venture, Hey 19 Public House, is a “rustic American” themed restaurant and bar featuring craft cocktails and new-American, organic conscious, comfort food. Hey 19 opened its doors in Torrance in late 2014 and was instantly named one of the “Best New Restaurants of 2014” by Easy Reader.
With her “whiskey in a tea cup” attitude, mixology brilliance, the ability to understand both front and back house management of a restaurant, and dedicated guest and staff following, it is no wonder why every restaurant Demi touches turns to gold.
I’ve long been a fan of Ortega 120 and Hey 19 has become my go-to place for not just the food, but dancing! I’ve recently heard some rumors about other special events Demi has on the drawing board and can’t wait to hear more details!

Maple Syrup isn’t just for pancakes. Pure maple syrup enhances the flavor of many foods and is slightly sweeter than cane sugar. It features 54 antioxidants positioning the flavorful syrup among other fruits and vegetables well-known for health benefits. Nate Bissell is the 6th generation owner of Bissell Maple Farm, and his family has been making maple syrup in Ohio since the late 1800's.You thought all maple syrup came from Vermont! Like fine wines, pure maple syrup gets its unique flavor from the geographic region. How do you improve the deliciousness maple syrup? Bissell Maple Farm, in collaboration with Pappy & Company, launched a gourmet product, Pappy & Company Bourbon Barrel-Aged Syrup, at the Summer Fancy Food Show in NY. The product is created by aging Bissell's top-quality Sugarmaker's Reserve™ syrup in rare, 23 year-old Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels. Bissell Maple Farm starts with sap produced at the peak of the maple harvesting season, during a very specific window when the Red Maple and Sugar Maple trees are producing a limited quantity of pristine sap. The Sugarmaker's Reserve™ syrup produced from this sap is then aged 100 days in barrels that have been used for years to distill Pappy Van Winkle bourbon whiskey in Frankfort, KY. Two American traditions, maple syrup and bourbon, become one, and they are perfect together! Try it with cheesecake, creme brulee, meat rubs, cocktails, and marinades. Under Nate’s leadership since 2011, Bissell Maple Farm is a blend of state of-the-art technology and old fashioned ingenuity. After the interview, check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more info.
