Well Father God is nothing like man, but has given us the GIFT of His Son, Jesus, and Spirit, Holy Spirit, to grow through faith and live a life "as He is." This week, join in on the conversation as we are led by Holy Spirit to know Him as our daily advisor and companion. The Rose of Sharon Show is completely dedicated to Ephesians 4:15. We provide the knowledge that generates understanding and awareness for leading life 'as He (Jesus) is in this world" IAW 1 John 4:17.
What is a good neighborhood? Is it about the money? The schools? The crime rate? The helpfulness of neighbors who otherwise mind their business? The low percentage of Blacks and Latinos but the high percentage of white people who are employed? Is it the property tax rate? Can a good neighborhood exist in the city or does a good neighborhood only exist in the suburbs? Do only good people live in good neighborhoods? How far apart do good and bad neighborhoods usually live from each other? Where is the good and bad line that separates the two?
What is a bad neighborhood? Who lives there? Is it the exact opposite of what a good neighborhood is? Does a bad neighborhood only have bad people and things living working in it? Do people who live in a bad neighborhood work? What does a good neighborhood and a bad neighborhood have in common? Do people from bad neighborhoods go to good neighborhoods and if so, for what? Do people from good neighborhoods go to bad neighborhoods and if so, what for?
What is good and bad when it comes to neighborhoods anyway and is there a way to measure it? Do statistics tell the whole story? Do resident testimony tell he whole story? We're gonna use both and see what we can find out about this strange phenomenon that everyone seems to understand so little and so lot about.
Do Blacks and whites live in the same good and bad neighborhoods? Do Black people move from bad Black neighborhoods to better Black neighborhoods or is it that you must move to a neighborhood where there are more whites than Blacks for a neighborhood to be good?
Be sure to tune into this one and bring friends and/or children to listen in. You might find out some good and/or bad things about your good or bad neighborhood.

Holy Spirit is our Helper, Comforter, and our constant companion, but do you know Him? As Paul asked those in Ephesus in Acts 19; “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? Did you take God into your mind only, or did you also embrace him with your heart? Did he get inside you?” ...this week, I will be asking you the same questions as we continue exposing our true relationship with He, Him, Holy Spirit. The Rose of Sharon Show is completely dedicated to Ephesians 4:15. We provide the knowledge that generates understanding and awareness for leading life 'as He (Jesus) is in this world" IAW 1 John 4:17. We probably see it everyday but do we really put any deep thought into it? We have not one but two White mothers of Black children to share with us their challenges, issues, triumphs and disappointments of raising their biracial children. These two women are Patty Candell and Leah Wagner and they are gonna put us onto a perspective that is rarely considered by the browner side of us. Well, maybe it is considered but other shows don't have the balls to do it like Urban Therapy with SUN will.
Do we care about their challenges? Are we aware of their challenges? Do we consider the way that they raise children who look like us to be the same way that we raise our children? Do they feed their kids the same things that we eat? How do they deal with disciplining their children? Is it all calm talk, reasoning and time outs?
How do they do their daughter's hair? Where do they get their son's hair cut? What happens when their children ask what race they are and why mommy and daddy look so different? What happens when deeper cultural, heritage and identity questions and issues arise should they come up? How do White mothers deal with their children's peer pressure to date, dress, talk and act BLACK so to speak? What happens if they talk WHITE?
How does the White mother handle the looks and stares that some may give when they go to register their children for school or when they have to interact with other parents who have not been in interracial relationships and may be negatively judgemental about this?
On this show we will hear firsthand the way that a White woman feels when she is around Black women who may feel some kind of way about them "taking" their Black men and if that is even the case?
