    Billy Grima Live

    in Military

Join us this week as we welcome country/pop/rock music singer songwriter, Billy Grima. Born in Blacktown, NSW Australia, Billy started writing at a very young age and was singing in a church choir by the age of 8 years old. At 15, Billy moved to Canada and settled in Toronto. Like classic singer/songwriters, Billy Joel, Jim Croce, James Taylor and Bob Dylan, life’s daily realities and everyday events are a source of Billy’s inspiration. His smooth and soulful sound has earned him comparisons to contemporaries Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran, Jack Johnson and even Bruno Mars. Billy has 3 albums to his credit: I’m Just Standing, A Little Piece Of Heaven and his latest, titled Sugar & Cream, produced and engineered by Pete Swann (Glass Tiger’s Alan Connely, Adrian and Justin Lifeson, sons of Rush’s Alex Lifeson.) Sugar & Cream features a tasty blend of pop, rock, soul and Americana, including the first single, “Pleasure To Have Met You.” The album is going for worldwide radio adds this spring. We will talk to Billy about his upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at his music, feature his latest songs, and ask him to share his message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Billy Grima at http://www.billygrima.com/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with Billy during the show (718) 766-4193. If Religion Went Away

    in Religion

I've gone on record saying religion is a net evil.  That is, the good religion does is outwieghed by the bad.  So does that mean that I think if religion dissappeared things would be better?  The answer may surprise you.

I'll talk about what I think would happen, what would not happen, and why.

This episode is a return to the rambling stream of thoughts this show does when it doesn't do interviews.

So you could call in and give your two cents!

    Oh, the awesomeness!!

How one woman went from Fashion to Faith

    in Motivation

Counselor Mandy Eppley speaks with ordained minister, Rev. Rebecca Nagy, about her life journey that started out as a successful fashion designer in NYC. She loved this job, but when she had a spinal injury and surgery that left her in a leg brace, she could no longer continue in this field. This was both physically and emotionally painful for her to accept. She moved back to Charlotte to take another job that ended up not being what she thought it would be. During this same time she was also ordained as a non-denominational minster. She “jumped off the ledge” to manifest this new dream in 1998 by officiating weddings, speaking at churches and holding classes. Although this was great, it wasn’t her FULL dream. When her father died she heard him say “Do what God wants to you to do. You know what it is.” Two weeks later a church called her needing a minster. Now two years later she has grown the church, the Spiritual Light Center of Charlotte, into an active community. Mandy summarizes by saying “When we get turned on to our authentic calling we will go to any lengths to go for it.” They also discuss Step 5, Spiritual Fortitude, from the Model of Heart-Centered Grief and how important it is to know that you are never alone. Mandy and Rebecca will both be speakers at SHiFT Charlotte on March 19, 2016.

Rev. Rebecca Nagy is the Spiritual Leader of Spiritual Light Center of Charlotte (formerly Unity Center for Spiritual Living).  She is a non-denominational minster, graduating from Sancta Sophia Seminary in 1996 and ordained through Light of Christ Community Church. An award-winning Wedding Officiant, Meditation Teacher, Spiritual Teacher and author of the popular CD, “Instant Calm”, Rebecca is also one of the featured speakers at SHIFT Charlotte 2016, teaching her classic, “Dream State University”. www.slcofcharlotte.org

5 Biggest Mistakes People Make When Meditating

    in Spirituality

I have been asked a lot of questions about meditation over the past few years. As people are feeling the urge to raise their vibration and get in touch with a higher self, they turn to medititation. However, there is so much information on the subject of meditation and so many things that tend to contridict one another, that they are left with a lot of confusion. Not to mention those who have been mediating for years who are not seeing the results they desire. So I decided to do a show and help clear up a lot of this confusion. Today I am going to be discussing the 5 biggest mistakes and misconceptions people make when meditating. Whether you are new to meditation or you've been doing it for years, this is a show you don't want to miss!
