One week after another BYB podcast full of talk of what's wrong with the Tigers, Al and HookSlide revel in their undefeated week, ask what has changed, are impressed by Rick Porcello and J.D. Martinez, appreciate Torii Hunter's honestly, and wave back at Ian Kinsler.
Bless You Boys Podcast 117 was recorded June 27, 2014, has a running time of 56 minutes, and features Al Beaton and HookSlide.
Things were looking dire last week. The Tigers had lost 3 straight to the Royals, dropping 1 ½ games back and appeared well on their way to 3rd place. Seven days later, the Tigers have 7 wins in a row, and are back to 4 1/2 games up in the Central. But what's changed in one week?
Rick Porcello is off to the best start of his career. Thursday night he tossed his first career shutout and second complete game, raising his record to 10-4 and lowering his ERA to 3.41.
Dave Dombrowski tells MLB Network Radio the team is confident Joe Nathan has turned the corner, and that if the Tigers do add bullpen help ahead of the trade deadline, it'll likely be for a seventh- or eighth-inning guy.
J.D. Martinez is named AL Player of the Week, and continues to bash the living Hell out of the ball.
The Tigers' corner outfield positions are getting crowded. Torii Hunter sees the writing on the wall and tells the media he is willing to take a part-time role if that's best for the team.
Ian Kinsler homered in his first at-bat in his return to Arlington, then waved to the Texas bench when running to first (with a huge smile on his face).Flying under the radar is Kinsler's bat, which has been just as hot as the Tigers named Martinez.
Tigers have reacquired Daniel Schlereth, assigning him to Toledo.
All that, and more!

Sean Askandari was born and raised in Houston, Tx. A big fan of street photography, street style blogs and all things Houston, he spent one night looking up Houston street style photography blogs on Google. He only came across a few but they were very inconsistent having 2 to 3 months between posts. So in January of 2012 he bought his first camera and in March of that year he decided to use the SXSW Festival as the starting point of the blog....and DRESS YO SELF was born. DRESS YO SELF is his way of showing the rest of the world that Houston isn't the boring, ugly city that the main stream media makes it out to be. DRESS YO SELF is his contribution to the city he loves.
One of the most misunderstood questions in Christiandom is "What make a true Christian?" Many people claim to be Christians and members of the Church (the body of Christ), but do not truly understand what qualifies one to make this claim. Because you truly believe that you are something does not make it fact. This subject requires some serious soul searching. During this episode we will discuss what makes a true Christian, based on both scripture and the Divine inspirations anointed into our host. Please tune into the very important broadcast.

Join Anna K. as she interviews guests weekly about what makes them GLOW...inside and out! Every Friday, 10am EST. This week she interviews two best friends in need of a get-away that turned into a business!
Elizabeth Elder and Leslie Denby have been best friends for over 20 years. They recently discovered how difficult grown up life can be, juggling marriage, parenthood, careers, and oh yeah, taking care of themselves. Although both are grateful for their wonderful lives, they agreed that taking a step away from everything would bring perspective and give them a chance to find balance. By partnering with Carol Gutzeit, Founder of Destination Satori, a wellness company, and involving their own businesses, they organized the Satori Living Retreat. The retreat is taking place Oct. 16-19th at Colorado Cabin Adventures, a popular vacation property with cabin rentals owned by Elizabeth’s family. Then as Founder and Designer of DYI | Define Your Inspiration, an athletic and lifestyle apparel line, Leslie is outfitting the guests at the retreat with bestselling items from her Fall 2014 collection. They are so excited to have found a way to fulfill their need, and hope they can help other women by inviting them to attend the Satori Living Retreat!
