We will also touch on the 60's Jazz scene in both the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. Join us, listen and/or call in!
Scott Yanow (Bio):
.....Jazz Journalist and historian. Since then, I have been involved in many projects. Being the Senior Editor for the 3rd edition of the All Music Guide For Jazz resulted in a countless number of my CD reviews and biographies being utilized throughout the internet including Pandora Radio. In addition to having written ten books so far (most recently The Jazz Singers) and writing for the Jazz Heritage Club, I have written several episodes for the popular jazz radio series Jim Cullum's Riverwalk - Live At The Landing.
I have written over 750 liner notes, hundreds of press biographies and press releases, and it has been said that I have reviewed more jazz recordings than anyone in history. I have contributed to virtually all of the major jazz magazines including Downbeat, Jazz Times, Jazziz, Cadence, Coda, The Mississippi Rag, Jazz Forum, Jazz News, The Jazz Report, Planet Jazz, Jazz Now and Jazz
Improv. These days I write regularly for Jazz Inside, Downbeat, Jazziz, Los Angeles Jazz Scene and The Jazz Rag.....Learn More
Mountain West media days take place in Las Vegas on July 22 and 23, so to get everyone prepared we decided to preview the event. Not a ton of news comes out of media day so Matthew, Jeremy and Chris predict who the media will pick to win the Mountain and West divisions, plus the offensive and defensive players of the year.
Since no one from the staff can be at media days we go out of our way to pick who we would like to talk to the most from players and coaches. We give legitimate questions as well some off the all one's, too.
Have a listen as we get everyone prepped for the event to signifies football is just around the corner.
This week the boys of West Coast Bias are doing double duty. After giving you their thoughts on the NFL Draft from last Thursday, the Boys are changing gears and continuing their coverage of the NBA Playoffs. But now we are on to round 2 and the fun is still continuing on so listen in on Sunday night as Double K, Mr Suave and our resident BBall coach The Doual to discuss the NBA Playoffs and some of the outrageous storylines to come out of this year’s postseason dance. That’s at 8pm PST/11pm EST right here on Blogtalkradio.com…
The Texas Rangers continue their West Coast Road Trip again as they take on AL West opponents. The guys discuss that along with the San Antonio Spurs victory in the NBA Finals over the Miami Heat in five games and the latest on the Dallas Cowboys and the rest of the NFL. The guys also hand out another much deserved Drama Queen of the Week Award.
In this episode of the JRNYMN Conference Call with Sean Pronger, brought to you by JRNYMN Wear and C3 Development & Representation, former Calgary Flames forward and 1989 Stanley Cup Champion Colin Patterson joins Sean on the call to reminisce and share stories.
After attending Clarkson University, Colin signed with the Flames as a free agent and made his NHL debut in 1983. Joining a team that was on its way to becoming a powerhouse in the Campbell Conference and NHL, he shut down the opposition's best offensive players throughout his 10 seasons in the league. The Flames lost a hard-fought series in the Stanley Cup Final to the Montreal Canadians in 1986, but in 1989, it was Calgary's turn to lift the Cup in victory.
Did you know that the Flames were the only team to defeat the Montreal Canadians on Montreal Forum ice and win the Stanley Cup? Colin not only discusses those two Finals and the "ghosts of the Forum", he also reveals the answer to a 25-yeal old mystery - who made the mistake of pranking Lanny McDonald on one of his worst days?
A great episode for hockey fans that remember the Smythe Division of the 1980's, you don't want to miss this episode of the JRNYMN Conference Call!

Sam Thurman, Wayne Wright, and Jynel Gaulden of the Colorado exoneration firm A Just Cause, discuss what happens when the wheels of justice trample unbridled over the rights of innocent Americans.
Although the American system of justice is the most-respected worldwide, it is still a system designed, and operated, by humans, which means it's not perfect. Sam, Wayne and Jynel will highlight ongoing struggles against "the system" to free wrongfully imprisoned people, and what happens when justice miscarries against an actually innocent person.
Our Special Guest for tonight's show is Laura Caldwell, a Former Civil Trial Attorney and Author of "Life After Innocence" written about Jovan Mosely, who was wrongly convicted for a crime he didn't commit.
A Just Cause is currently campaigning for "FreeTheIRP6," who's been wrongly imprisoned in Florence, CO for a crime they didn't commit. Read full story: www.freetheirp6.org.
