The Waterhouse Reggae Dynasty will be paying a musical Reggaespect to Wayne "Sleng Teng" Smith.
His 1985 recording of "(Under Me) Sleng Teng", is generally regarded as the beginning of ragga style reggae. The rhythm was created on a Casio MT-40 and is based on the riff from Eddie Cochran's "Somethin' Else". Although there are a number of conflicting stories about how it was first found, the commonly accepted view is that Wayne Smith and Noel Davy discovered it. It is a pattern found in the Casio MT-40.
Joint the Waterhouse Reggae Dynasty "LIVE" from NEW ORLEANS with Iron Lion Reggae Promoter Ras Lee in reasoing about the musical vibration.
New Orleans has always been a significant center for music, showcasing its intertwined European, Latin American, and African cultures. This artiste is the epitome of what the roots of reggae music is all about. Armed with a barrage of strong and prolific songs this youth is as refreshing as the rivers running through the cool St Andrew hills where he hails from.
