Rattle and Hum Sports Live Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Redskins Preview

Hosted by Bryan Houston with guest Matthew Postins

RattleandHumSports.com host Bryan Houston welcomes Dallas Cowboys writer Matthew Postins to review the Dallas Cowboys Monday Night Football game against their division rival Washington Redskins.

The Cowboys lost in overtime to the Redskins but may have dodged a bigger bullet as Tony Romo took a direct hit on his back and left the game only to return to attempt to lead the Cowboys to victory. Was it smart to put Romo back in the game? What is his prognosis going forward? Can the team bounce back from the loss against a good Arizona squad on short rest?

Rattle and Hum Sports Live Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Redskins Preview

Hosted by Bryan Houston with guest Matthew Postins

RattleandHumSports.com host Bryan Houston welcomes Dallas Cowboys writer Matthew Postins to preview the Dallas Cowboys Monday Night Football game against their division rival Washington Redskins.

The Cowboys look to improve to 7-1 and maintain the best record in the NFL against a Redskins team that will be quarterbacked by former Texas Longhorn Colt McCoy. There is no such thing as an easy win in the NFL but can the Redskins compete with the Cowboys with McCoy under center? Could this be the proverbial trap game with a good Arizona Cardinals team next on the schedule on a short week?

The last time Dallas led the league in wins was 1994 when they were 8-1. Can this team repeat that?

Who is in and who is out this week at linebacker? Should Rod Marinelli win the first AP Assistant Coach of the Year Award?

What to look for tomorrow night in primetime and as this tremendous year for the Dallas Cowboys rolls on with Bryan and Matthew on Rattle and Hum Sports Live.

The Dallas Cowboys Look to Keep Their Playoff Hopes Alive in Washington Sunday

By Brian Houston and Matthew Postins

Despite their inexplicable loss to the Green Bay Packers Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys (7-7)  still control their own playoff destiny if they defeat Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins (3-11) Sunday in our nation’s capital. Sunday will mark the third week in a row the Cowboys will face a backup quarterback, and after being thwarted by the Chicago Bears Josh McCown and Packers backup Matt Flynn the last two games, can the Cowboys reverse the trend of losing to teams second string signal callers? Can the much maligned Cowboys defense stop Cousins and running back Alfred Morris, who has rushed for 1125 yards this season?

On the offensive side of the ball, can Bill Callahan, Jason Garrett and Tony Romo put together a game and carry it out without refusing to run the football if the situation demands it? Will the Cowboys be able to once again pick themselves up off the mat to compete for a chance to face the Eagles the final week of the season in winner take all for the NFC East crown and a first round home game in the playoffs?

If so, is this season considered a success or is change imminent s=despite what happens the rest of the way this season? All eyes in the NFL will be on the Dallas Cowboys and how they respond to the hostile criticism the team has received for their head scratching play calling that cost them the game aganst green Bay. Will Dallas finally rise to the occasion in a crucial game or will we see the same thing we have seen from Romo, Garrett and the Cowboys in these games that can define a team as a winner or just another also ran in today’s mediocre NFL.

Green Bay Packers Wildcard game preview vs. Washington Redskins

    in Sports

The Green Bay Packers enter the NFL playoffs in unfamiliar territory. For the first time in five years, the Packers are a wildcard team. They travel to Washington to play the Redskins. They clinched the NFC East by winning their last four games. Preseason expectations were different for both teams. The Packers were a Super Bowl favorite by many media outlets, while the Redskins were the team that was going to be in the middle pack in a poor NFC East. An injury to Tony Romo in Dallas, Chip Kelly losing his team, and the Giants losing fourth quarter leads allowed the Redskins to quietly sneak up and win hte division.

17 weeks later, the Packers are sputtering on offense, and the Redskins are feeling confident. This could be the game the Packers have waited for on offense. The Redskins are ranked 28th in the NFL, and are banged up in the secondary. The Packers will need to control the clock and finsih drive with points if they want to stay alive in the NFC playoffs.

The Packers defense has allowed the team to stay in games when the offense was not scoring. The key in this game will be to shut down the Redskins running game to take away the play action pass. Secondly, they must apply pressure to Kirk Cousins. Field position is always a big factor, in playoff football, and if the defense can create turnovers the Packers should advance to the next round.
