The School Lunch Program was supposed to be for the benefit of the students. To provide nutrition to those unable to provide for themselves, and to make sure that no student was hungry and distracted during the school day. The idea was that a full stomach allows students to concentrate on improving their lot in life, not suffering through it.
But now, the program appears to be quickly replacing the responsibilities of the parents with the provider of the state. The current levels of those that qualify indicate that more and more persons are being indoctrinated into being willing subjects to government bureaucrats.

It's interesting to write about someone who you've seen in clubs around town many times - then realize that you think about this person in a whole new way. It's a little like recognizing that a family member is a genius!
Such is the case with Baltimore's Warren Wolf. Oh, trust me - we all knew that Warren was a breed apart. It's just that NOW the world is catching up! And it's time. Because this young multi-instrumentalist has been playing since Daddy steered him in that direction: at THREE!
Yes, our next guest learned how to play drums, piano, vibraphone and marimba EARLY. And spent eight years at the renowned Peabody Institute, immersing himself in the classics. Thereafter, Warren was off to Berklee in Boston - this was not only academically satisfying - but it provided two more branches for this flowering tree that were not expected. First, Warren established himself at the respected Boston venue, Wally's Club - as the drummer in the house band that he co-led. Second, his expertise on multiple instruments paved the way for a teaching opportunity at the College. And that solidified a reputation that was already wonderful.
As a member of Bobby Watson's sextet - and as same with Christian McBride's Inside Straight, Warren Wolf continued to hone the skills that attracted the attention of the New York Times, NPR and the head of Blue Note Records.
Now - with his sophomore release on Mack Avenue - his focus is on songwriting and memorable melodies. "Wolfgang" is all about making an impact - which you will surely feel.
Gary Burton calls Warren the one to fill his shoes when GB hangs up his mallets. The SF Jazz Collective has invited Warren to embark on a journey with the great musicians in that organization. This is just the beginning - let's enjoy this beautiful journey of Warren Wolf :)
