SORT BY Relevancy
We could be too trusting of our democratic institutions. The police are supposed to be honest and are sworn to protect and serve the public. So we trust them without independent external review. Years of documentary evidence have shown numerous police officials have not been truthful. Still, we trust police officials to conduct self-monitoring and the imposition of sanctions without adequate external review. American citizens apparently have a lot of trust in the process that allows us to exercise our Constitutional Right to Vote! Proprietary software programs are typically used in voting machines. These nearly secret programs could have some percentage of errors or could possibly be manipulated in some way. Nevertheless, we do not receive a receipt verifying the accuracy of our vote. How do you know for certain that your attempt to vote for Mayoral Candidate John Johnson actually resulted in a vote for him?
Join us on Thursday November 8, 2012 at 6:00 PM eastern time, for a discussion of the “trust factor” and its possible consequences.

How does a spiritual person vote her faith? What issues should be foremost in our minds as we head to the polls? Writer Monica Johnson once observed that our votes should reflect our God, but what exactly does that mean? Please join Lori and Alice on this very special and timely episode of "Open Book" as they discuss how their values inform their voting and how you can discern for yourself the best way to reflect God in your vote.
Today is Novemeber 4th and everyone is either voting or rebelling. Do you beleive voting can cause a change or is it just to appease the people. There is a belief out there that preidents are not elected but, selected. If this is a theory is true is it possible democrats and rebuplicans are on the same team? So many questions regarding politics and polytricks so, call in tonight to discuss what voting is really about. Also tonight our guest host Daooeed Yisrael talk about buisness in the black community. He will discuss his company, Black Business Weekly, and how black owned businesses can promote their campanies for only 8$'s.
From Essence Magazine: "66% of eligible African-Americans voted in the 2012 presidential elections. That number is projected to decrease by 6.5 million people to just 42% of eligible Blacks in this year's midterms." Why? Is it apathy or do we just not see the purpose of voting if there is not a lot of hoopla around the issues? The mid term elections are when we vote on who is going to help the President get the job done...or NOT done for the next 2 years. There are also issues on the state level that require our attention as well...Supreme Court judges, Constitutional amendments and more. Let's talk about it and get educated on this process so that we can vote smart and as always DON'T BITE YOUR TONGUE!!!
Early voting continue in Texas until Friday. The General Election will be held next Tuesday, November 4. Will Repblicans gain more seats in the House, and take control of the Senate? If so, what will be done during the Lame Duck Session of Congress?

Today on "It's My House" we shall be discussing "voting distinctions". Most people only know about "Ballot Box" voting, however many people do not know about "Access/Vested Interest Voting". When you Ballot Box vote you have no say so on issues BEFORE you vote and you can only cast (1) vote every election cycle. In addition you are restricted to a physical geographic location.
When you "Access Vote"........aka.........."Vested Interest" voting you are not restricted to physical locations or just (1) vote. You can "vote" in many ways, which gives you "access" which is something that the average Ballot Box voter never has.
