Today on "It's My House" we shall be discussing "voting distinctions". Most people only know about "Ballot Box" voting, however many people do not know about "Access/Vested Interest Voting". When you Ballot Box vote you have no say so on issues BEFORE you vote and you can only cast (1) vote every election cycle. In addition you are restricted to a physical geographic location.
When you "Access Vote"........aka.........."Vested Interest" voting you are not restricted to physical locations or just (1) vote. You can "vote" in many ways, which gives you "access" which is something that the average Ballot Box voter never has.
From Essence Magazine: "66% of eligible African-Americans voted in the 2012 presidential elections. That number is projected to decrease by 6.5 million people to just 42% of eligible Blacks in this year's midterms." Why? Is it apathy or do we just not see the purpose of voting if there is not a lot of hoopla around the issues? The mid term elections are when we vote on who is going to help the President get the job done...or NOT done for the next 2 years. There are also issues on the state level that require our attention as well...Supreme Court judges, Constitutional amendments and more. Let's talk about it and get educated on this process so that we can vote smart and as always DON'T BITE YOUR TONGUE!!!
