The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Rod Rutherford.
Rod Rutherford finished his third season on the IUP staff as a wide receivers' coach anda recruiting coordinator in 2013.
Under the coaching of Rod Rutherford in 2013, first team All-PSAC wide receiver Terrill Barnes was the first Crimson Hawk to go over 1,000 yards since Carmelo Ocasio in 2002. Barnes finished the season with 63 receptions, rushing for 1,014 yards and 8 touchdowns. Barnes went over 150 yards in three games and had a receiving touchdown in eight of eleven games.
In 2012, Rutherford was part of a coaching staff that led the Hawks to a 12-2 record and a NCAA playoff appearance.
Prior to IUP, Rutherford spent the 2009 and 2010 seasons as a graduate assistant at Pitt, coaching the linebackers and wide receivers. Rutherford was part of a Pitt team that won 10 games for the first time since 1981.
During the 2008 season, Rutherford coached the defensive backs and special teams at St. Vincent, and in 2007, he served as a volunteer quarterback coach at Pitt.
Rutherford was a two-year starter at Pitt, starting 26 games and and earning All-Big East first team honors in 2003 and second team honors in 2004. He set the school record for passing yards in a season with 3,679 in 2003.
In 2004, Rutherford signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent. The following season he was a member of the practice squad of the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Rutherford was also a member of the 2007 World Bowl championship Hamburg Seadevils of NFL Europe.
Did you know that most activism is brought about by ordinary people? Rosa Parks, at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement, was an ordinary person. Edmund Burke said it best - "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing". I would include good women as well. Burke also said that "no one could make a greater mistake than he (I add she) could make a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little."
Now, more than ever, the world needs good people to rise together to protest the injustices of gender discrimination, racial discrimination, discrimination against gays and lesbians, and other forms of discrimination.
If you have something you believe in strongly, if you have some cause that you want to support, become an activist and lend your voice to changing the world, one person and one positive action at a time.
We discuss the Tigers issues, Injuries (Vmart, Verlander,Cabrera), starting pitching, and coaching decisions etc. We discuss the NBA playoffs as the Clev clincehs the east and gets a bit of rest for the GS which has a 3/1 lead over HOU. Pistons have the 8th pick and we will discuss a few of their draft candidates. Red Wings will have to start a new era w/o Babcock who left for Toronto.. We will look at some of the happenings in the NFL(Mcdonald arrest and subsequent release)and discuss the impact of the NE sanctions and T. Brady's upcoming appeal with Roger Goodell. We discuss a few developing offseason AFC storylines( NE Brady situation as well as CB, Has IND added enough OL and defensive help to be a contender, Can PITT rebuild its defense and deal with Bell suspension, Buff retooled can they find a QB to lead them). We take our first steps into the fantasy world for 2015 by discussing a few players whose stock has gone up and some whose stock has gone down. And talk about a few cats who may be long in the tooth but who we still feel will be effective in Fantasy this upcoming season.
Today we will discuss which actors have the best resumes. For example playing Darth Vader is a bigger deal than playing the lead in a movie that no one knows. If you can't remember the character's name, it probably isn't a big role. Johnny Depp, Sam Jackson, Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, and others will be discussed and debated. Who has the best character resume? We will also discuss how one of us broke bones yesterday. We may even throw in some other stuff like eating burritos and smelling flowers.
