Carlisle, PA – Like a kaleidoscope, women’s lives are constantly changing. Indeed, women entering their midlife often experience a great deal of disruption, but this period of transition also offers these women the perfect opportunity to truly reinvent their lives.
Dr. Ines Roe is the founder of Alta Vista Life Coaching, a coaching practice dedicated to supporting women experiencing midlife transition to rebalance their lives.
“What I love about coaching is partnering with people,” says Dr. Roe. “It really is about working with people’s potential rather than focusing on the negative. Coaches support individuals as they figure out what they want and inspire them to summon the courage to go after it.”
A psychologist for over 20 years, Dr. Roe intends to transition full time to coaching in her retirement. She says while therapy is more about diagnosis and disorder, coaching is more about wellness. People are self-directed and take responsibility for their decisions.
“I’m in the same place as my clients in many respects,” says Dr. Roe. “I’ve had a long career but I’m looking toward making changes.”
When navigating life disruptions such as retirement, divorce or loss, Dr. Roe says it’s essential to be mindful of what holds us back and partner with those elements to move forward. Dr. Roe has developed a series of e-courses for clients to explore and digest at their own pace.
“I’m hoping people will use the material I provide as a springboard to decide how they want to craft and reinvent their life,” says Dr. Roe. “If they want more connection as an accountability partner I can be that for them, but ultimately it’s about empowering people to do things on their own. I’m here to provide a path for them.”
Guests are three of the artists who collectively run Monte Vista Projects, Jay Lizo, Jade Thacker and David Earle.
Monte Vista is an artist-run space, opened in Highland Park in 2007, hosting exhibitions, lectures, events, and performances. The space is self-determining, having “no manifesto," with the aims of providing a platform for art and conversation, emphasizing experimentation and artworks that contribute to non-traditional dialogues.

On Friday, May 23rd, at 9:22 PM, PST, Elliot Rodger, a "lonely," "frustrated," and "isolated" rich kid and son of director/photographer, Peter Rodger went berserk and decided to take his angst out on the rest of the world (especially, young, blonde women). In the days that followed, strange threads, incongruities and inconsistencies have emerged (as they almost always do). On today's show, I'll be looking at them from an astrological perspective, while linking it up to the global network and program of chaos and destabilization.
I'll also be examining the impact of Uranus in Aries on male culture in it's disturbing extremes.

The TalentCulture #TChat Show is back live on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, from 7-8 pm ET (4-5 pm PT). The #TChat radio portion runs the first 30 minutes from 7-7:30 pm ET, followed by the #TChat Twitter chat from 7:30-8 pm ET.
Last week we talked about how millennials aren’t as different as companies think, and this week we’re going to talk about the ROI of workplace transparency and the race for talent.
If you’re of a certain age, you may remember reading comic books and seeing advertisements for X-ray vision glasses, giving you the ability to see through, well, anything.
That fantasy of old is a reality today for employers, employees and candidates alike, with social media and world of work review sites giving anyone the ability to “see through” company walls as much as they can see into candidates’ backgrounds.
That’s critical in the constant race to attract and keep talent because we continuously market and sell each other blue sky, when all the while storm clouds brew and burst at a moment’s notice, grounding trust’s feeble flight.
This week’s show highlights great real-world examples of transparency in the workplace, from Ernst & Young, Centro, Hilcorp and more.
Join TalentCulture #TChat Show co-creators and co-hosts Meghan M. Biro and Kevin W. Grossman as we learn more about the ROI of workplace transparency with this week’s guest: Kim Peters, CEO Great Rated! from Great Place to Work®.
Thank you to our sponsors and partners: RIVS, GreatRated! of Great Place to Work, TalentWise, Dice, SAP/SuccessFactors, IBM, CareerBuilder, PeopleFluent, Fisher Vista and HRmarketer Insight.
