Isaiah 7:14 says that a virgin will bear a son. The problem is dealing with the Hebrew word for virgin, which is "almah." According to the Strong's Concordance it means, "virgin, young woman 1a) of marriageable age 1b) maid or newly married." Therefore, the word "almah" does not always mean virgin. The word "occurs elsewhere in the Old Testament only in Genesis 24:43 (”maiden“); Exodus 2:8 (”girl“); Psalm 68:25 (”maidens“); Proverbs 30:19 (”maiden“); Song of Songs 1:3 (”maidens“); 6:8 (”virgins“)."1 Additionally, there is a Hebrew word for virgin: bethulah. If Isaiah 7:14 was meant to mean virgin instead of young maiden, then why wasn't the word used here?

This is not a First Amendment issue but a matter of forcing Facebook to uphold their own standards regarding Hate Speech. Cary Bogue says the Facebook page "Virgin Mary Should've Aborted" should be taken. Is it offensive to Christians? Yes. Should they be forced to remove it?
Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?
There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.
Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.
But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!
If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!
It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!

God did not call his top ministers to be celibate. He says that the high priest, the top ranking religious figure, could marry a virgin only. The reason for this was because of his holy position.
Jesus makes all things new when we become born again, which I believe means a minister may marry any redeemed woman with a heart for God.
Virgin Islands animal rescue organizations will get a boon from the chupacabra this summer. Ye Gods! A Tale of Dogs and Demons, the latest novel by former Virgin Islands resident Lynne Hinkey, is a tale of magic and monsters run amok on a Caribbean island. Lynne is donating 100% of the proceeds from ebook sales to animal rescue groups with the Animal Care Center of St. John, St. Thomas Humane Society, and St. Croix Animal Welfare Center benefitting in July, August, and September, respectively. "It's a two-fer deal," Lynne explains. "When you buy Ye God!, you get a good read and do a good deed.
The star of Ye Gods! is the chupacabra (Spanish for "goat-sucker"), a beast that captured the nation's imagination and has made its way into pop culture. Lynne's madcap crime-caper, "a Scooby-Doo meets Murder, She Wrote mash-up," tackles the mythology surrounding the monster with some new and hilarious twist.
Lynne is a "marine scientist by training, author by passion, and curmudgeon by nature." She moved to St. Thomas as a 19-year-old to attend the then College of the Virgin Islands and later worked for the UVI Marine Advisory Service. Her debut novel, Marina Melee, is set on the fictional island of São Jorge, a place that should seem familiar since it's based on St. Thomas. The story of Ye Gods! and the chupacabra was inspired by actual events in Puerto Rico, where Lynne did her doctoral studies at the University of Puerto Rico.
Lynne is available for interviews, book readings and signings, and book club appearances via Skype, phone, or other online venues. Contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org

There's no doubt in this church: There's Something About the Virgin Mary. As St. Jerome said, "What we believe about Mary comes from what we believe about Christ."
She was venerated and consulted by the Apostles. She was cared for by the Beloved Disciple. She presided over Pentecost with the disciples.
Yet, so many questions swirl around her. If she was a perpetual virgin, then who are the "brothers and sisters of Jesus" mentioned in the Bible? How can she be Immaculately Conceived (meaning she was conceived in her mother's womb free from sin) if Paul says, "All have sinned"? Why do the people who honor her worship her statues? Why would Jesus have her appear around the world and perform miracles in her name?
Listen and learn why the ancient church, from the very beginning, honored, revered, and loved Mary, the Mother of God.
