    The Vinegar Tasters

    in Self Help

A famous painting exists of 3 Asian men, way back in time, who are gathered around a big vat of liquid. Vinegar, to be exact! They are dipping their fingers in the vat and tasting it. One man reacts with a sour expression; the second man has a bitter look on his face; and the third has a smile on his lips. These three men are Buddha, Lao Tzu, and Confucius, and their reactions to the taste of the vinegar represent their philosophies. Can you guess which man is associated with which expression? This famous painting was discussed in The Tao of Pooh, so you may already know the answer. But tune in anyway, because we'll be talking about the differences between these 3 key philosophies.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR- WINE OF THE GODS

    in Health

Over the centuries, vinegar has been used for many purposes: making pickles, killing weeds, cleaning coffee makers, polishing armor, cleaning glass and dressing salads. It's also an ancient remedy to relieve any ailment you can think of. In recent years, apple cider vinegar has been singled out as an especially helpful health tonic. While many of the medicinal uses of vinegar are unproven (SO FAR), a few do have medical research backing them up. Some studies have shown that apple cider vinegar could help with several conditions:
kill head lice ~ reverse aging ~ ease digestion ~ wash toxins from the body ~ obesity ~ diabetes ~ wart removal ~ disinfectant ~ helps with jelly fish stings ~ allergies (including pet, food and environmental) ~ sinus infections ~ acne ~ high cholesterol ~ flu ~ chronic fatigue ~ candida ~ acid reflux ~ sore throats ~ contact dermatitis ~ arthritis ~ gout....just to name a few

POSITIVE ACHIEVEMENT COUPONS = PRAISE THE GOOD IGNORE THE BAD

    in Business

    PRAISE THE GOOD

    IGNORE THE BAD

There are many reasons why you should regularly give praise.

First, people who feel appreciated and respected are more motivated than those who think their efforts go unnoticed. They're more engaged in the work they do, and they're more committed to their teams and organizations, because they know that they're making a real difference. This is especially important if you're working in an organization where budgets are tight, and where you can't afford to reward your people with raises or bonuses.

Sincere praise also helps you develop good work relationships with colleagues. These same colleagues are often very willing to return that feeling of goodwill: this means that they're more likely to lend a helping hand or share some useful information when you need it.

An interesting aspect about praise is the chemical reaction it causes in us. Researchshows that when we hear something we like, a burst of dopamine is released in our brains. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter, and it's associated with feelings of joy, pride, satisfaction, and well-being.

When you praise someone else, not only does that person feel great, but it leads them to want to experience that same feeling again. Giving praise cements good working habits and behavior, both chemically and intellectually.

    Just Jesus #99

    in Christianity

Padre Sahib said, "We have no tomb in Christianity because we have no corpse."

This is Daniel Whyte III with Just Jesus, a podcast designed to celebrate the birth, life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the impact He has on the world, and the salvation He offers for all people. This is episode #99. The aim of this podcast is to encourage you to begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to begin to live your life according to His Word.

Our Just Jesus passage from the Word of God today is John 19:29-30 which reads: "Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

Our featured Just Jesus quote today is from Charles Swindoll. He said, "The benefits of the resurrection are innumerable. To list a few: Our illnesses don't seem  nearly so final; Our fears fade and lose their grip; Our grief over those who have gone on is diminished; Our desires to press on in spite of the obstacles is rejuvenated; Our identity as Christians is strengthened as we stand in the lengthening shadows of saints down through the centuries, who have always answered back in antiphonal voice: 'He is risen, indeed!'"
