A good part of planetary devastation and Earth changes are actually fueled by eating meat and using non 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper for everything. The amount of land, water and food required to raise cows, whether for meat or dairy, is overwhelming, causes methane, and is counter productive to a healthy planet.
Tonight we welcome Victoria Moran, Victoria (www.mainstreetvegan.net) is a vegan of three decades and an obesity survivor. Listed by VegNews magazine among the Top 10 Living Vegetarian author, Victoria has written twelve books, including Main Street Vegan, Creating a Charmed Life, and new this month, The Good Karma Diet. Her fans range from Michael Moore to Ellen Degeneres, and she was featured twice on Oprah. Noree Victoria, Baltimore, Maryland native, has been active in the creative arts her entire life. Starting out writing imaginative short stories and plays, she completed her first bound children’s book at the age of 7. Loving the arts and academics, during her middle school years, she used creative and intellectual outlets to escape her sometimes-challenging upbringing in Baltimore, opting to spend summers in special programs on college campuses studying drama, creative writing, and painting with the help of government subsidized grants and academic scholarships. At the age of 16, once again longing for a life beyond the borders of her home city, she petitioned her school board on her own and successfully won their approval to bypass her senior year, and go directly on to college, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing and Biology, and subsequently a Master’s Degree in Information Technology. Noree completed her Master’s program with a 4.0 GPA. However, coming from an entertainment family with modest means-- kin to the late jazz musician Eubie Blake, and sister to Emmy nominated actress Penny Jerald-- the lure of acting proved way too overpowering for her to neglect. After completion of her academic studies, she stepped out on faith to pursue her creative passions in the performing arts full time, gaining recognition by winning the Best Actress award at AMTC’s Shine, a nation-wide talent competition drawing over 2000 contestants each year. After being discovered at AMTC, Noree was contacted by the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts and offered a scholarship to study under the direction of some of the most esteemed instructors in the business, taking on Scene Study, Advanced Film Combat, Voice-over, Michael Chekhov technique and Shakespeare Presentation.

On the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act and the atrocities in Selma, Alabama, Minnesota’s black elected officials have sold out the black community to protect their lack process in the advancement of black Minnesotans…enough is enough – it’s time to vote them back to private citizenship ASAP! It's only fair we give Minnesota state representative Rena Moran an opportunity to explain to the community and our listeners on why she is a part of this silencing of the black voice.
Council on Black Minnesotans board member and state representative Rena Moran has some explaining to do. She, along with representatives Joe Mullery and Carolyn Laine (Columbia Heights) have joined the team of senators Bobby Joe Champion and the controversial Community Action of Minneapolis board member Jeff Hayden to shut down the voice of black Minnesotans through a divisive act of political bullying.
An informational hearing on HF 1353 has been scheduled for Thursday May 12, 2015 at 8:15 am. HF 1353 (attached) will eliminate the current operational approach of the Council on Black Minnesotans. For the Sailor, nothing is more immediate, more "now" and of more impact to their personal and professional lives than their next set of orders.
For our Navy, nothing defines present operational performance, the development of future leaders, and ensuring success at war for the next few decades than personnel policy.
Our guest for the full hour this Sunday from 5-6pm Eastern will be the Chief of Naval Personnel, Vice Admiral Bill Moran, USN.
We will discuss the drive to man the Fleet to appropriate levels now, while looking at ways to modernize the personnel system to provide greater choice, flexibility and transparency for our Sailors and the commands they serve.
We will also look at the ongoing discussion about how to best keep with one hand a firm hand on what has worked, while with a free hand, reach for those things that will ensure that today's officers and enlisted personnel have a Navy that not only is meeting its needs, but takes in to consideration the individual goals and priorities of its personnel.
