Many of us are caught up in the victim mentality. This could be due to a traumatic childhood or things that occured to us as adults that we had no control of. We were in fact victims to at least something at one point in our lives, but some have been victim to many odds against them. As we grow older, when we have not healed from a lot of these things, we can remain in a victim mentality. We may now be adults or even older in general (for those underage listening), but are still responding to situations as if we have no power or no part to play in where we find ourselves even when we are not a victim.
I have remained in the victim mentality for years. I am still growing from it, but I would like to share how it has affected others and myself with my past decisions. Also, to share my growth in everything.
I just hope that this show will encourage others and even myself to slowly move out of the victim mentality. Yes, sometimes bad things happen to us and we are victims. We do live in a fallen world and God allows things for various reasons. However, we should not remain in a state of helplessness when God is glady willing to help us overcome and grow from our current state.
Romans 12:21 "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."
Philippians 3:13,14 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Tonight's show will focus on the societal views of suicide, including the history behind Christianity's view of suicide, how suicide is seen from the perspective of Western Culture, why many oversimplify the causes and ramificiations of suicide, and how victim blaming can actually lead to more suicides.

Lynne Forrest is a Reality Guide & Personal Growth Mentor, author of Guiding Principles for Life Beyond Victim Consciousness. She was educated through a life time of studying and observing metaphysical life principles taught to her early in life, and learning how to apply those principles to her own life in positive ways. As a perpetual student of life and consciousness, Lynne has devoted her career to studying with masters of various disciplines. Family dynamics, Jungian principles; dreams and shadow work, psychodrama and energy as well as the laws of manifestation, body oriented practices such as yoga, physical unwinding and qigong are just some of the approaches Lynne applies in her work with others. Through her work with clients, Lynne has developed a unique understanding of how the mind works and ways to liberate it from the throes of what she calls the “victim mind”.
Today, she will be sharing with us her perspective of Victim Consciousness on behalf of the people in Nepal a fter the April eartquake.

Crab mentality, sometimes referred to as "crabs in the bucket", is a phrase that describes a way of thinking best described by the phrase "if I can't have it, neither can you." The metaphor refers to a pot of crabs. Individually, the crabs could easily escape from the pot, but instead, they grab at each other in a useless "king of the hill" competition which prevents any from escaping and ensures their collective demise. The analogy in human behavior is sometimes claimed to be that members of a group will attempt to "pull down" (negate or diminish the importance of) any member who achieves success beyond the others, out of envy, conspiracy or competitive feelings, although this is not the behavior being exhibited by the crabs which are simply trying to escape themselves, without any knowledge or understanding of the supposed "success" of their fellow creatures.

I don’t like the word civil unrest. It doesn’t properly describe what exactly is going down in a riot situation. The mob mentality is an incredibly powerful entity that can take on a mind of its own. The quantity of events labeled as civil unrest throughout recent history are staggering and bring up the very real truth that it is part of the human experience.
All that being said you can still be swallowed up in a mob and your life changed forever or ended. This is not a problem that is going away. If nothing else it will only increase. Those wild ideas that I have talked about on my show like water shortages, economic collapse and terrorist attacks are all on the horizon. ISIS is operating on the Texas border for God’s sake!

If you suffer from Slave Mentality, your mindset can't be repaired overnight; in order to reverse the damage, it will take time to reprogram your mind, but it can be done. You cannot be victorious and have a succesful, positive life if you have a victim mentality. Of course you will encounter difficulties and hardships in life, but the answer is not blaming others; the answer is taking responsibility for your actions or creating a solution (or finding others who can help you) even if you're not at fault. How can we reclaim our identity? What can we do to abandon tthe beliefs of this mindset?
