On June 2 our guest was Leah Bolger, former naval Commander and recently elected Board President of Veterans for Peace.
We discussed Leah's journey from career officer to career peace activist, her work for Veterans for Peace and the many projects VFP is engaged in to educate the public about the costs of war, hold the US government accountable for its international war crimes, work for justice for veterans and other victims of war and to abolish war as an instrument of national policy.
Leah has had many fascinating experiences in her work for VFP, including being arrested with some of the mostnotable antiwar activists in the US. Having been at the center of the action for years, her new position at a time of revolutionary change assures that she will play an important role in the newly resurgent antiwar movement.
We also heard from Vietnam War veteran Paul Winger about his campaign for the Arizona legislature and his plans to use the public financing to focus on his pledge to amend the constitution to ban all special interest money from elections. Establishing democracy in the US is the first step to crushing the corporatocracy and ending war in the world.
SFPI Radio is the international talk show designed to allow those struggling for social justice around the world to talk to each other about how we can support efforts to promote justice, democracy and peace in every nation.
