Life in and beyond the Military: Lesbian Vets
Don't ask, Don't tell" (DADT) was the official United States policy on gays serving in the military from December 21, 1993, to September 20, 2011. The policy prohibited military personnel from discriminating against or harassing closeted homosexual or bisexual service members or applicants.

Pet Radio Show-Hero Dogs Helping Vets
After the tragedy in Boston we heard about the comfort dogs who helped the victims. Service dogs help Vets in many ways to bring comfort, stability and physical aid to our Vets. In this show we will recognize these heroes and hear some great stories from Jennifer Lund, founder of Hero Dogs Inc, and Gander the service dog who is up for this years American Humane Society Hero Dog of the year award. Also joining the show is Kamran Haghbin of Well Balanced Pet.

During the Vietnam War, in 1965 as a USAF Pilot, Kan was shot down over North Vietnam and later rescued.
Col Bob Kan, USAF (Ret.) is a third generation Japanese American (JA). born and raised in Hawaii. As a 7-year-old, Bob told his Mom he wanted to be a pilot. When he was nine-years old, he witnessed Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. As the war raged, Bob was selling newspapers on the streets of Honolulu to soldiers and sailors, many in Hawaii on their way to fight the enemy forces in the Pacific
(I Am) A Real American is not about racial discrimination, rather a humorous account of historical events that have crossed his path throughout his lifetime. Join us for a humorous program with Col Bob Kan, he is a Real American, and a very funny one, too!
