Hestia rules the hearth-fire, which we use for cooking, warmth and security. But how does that make us human? RevKess & Kalisara will discuss a new thesis on how cooking food is responsible for making us modern humans. We will also talk about the psychological and social needs for fire, the spirituality surrounding Hestia, and (if we have time) FOOD!
Yes that is right, Chai Tea and Chai Honey! We all have had honey and I am sure you have sipped on a chai latte at Starbucks or Second Cup! What if you could take a spoonful of honey with chai blended into it! Yummy!
Jodi and Heather, founder of Chaiwallahs, will join us and share their story on Chai Tea and Chai Honey. They will explain the beneftis of chai honey and how you can get some of your own too!
Jodi Dore: lover of anything that uses her creativity.
She has lived in Red Deer for 17 years, since her husband started an oilfield safety business. She is a mixed media artist and enjoys meeting people through through selling Chai Tea and Honey.
Heather Christenson: interior designer and creative soul
Runs her own business as an interior designer called Hestia Interiors.x She also enjoys being creative through jewelry making and tile mosaics. She has lived in Red Deer 14 years and before that three very memorable years in Australia with her family. For eight weeks a year she joins her friend and partner, Jodi Dore and they wear Chai Wallah hats, drying, grinding, mixing and selling chai and chai honey.
Every ancient culture has its myths about "The Guardians of the Sacred Fire". Before we can explore the mythology, first we must ask ourselves "Why was fire cosidered sacred?"
