& The Ugly!
This week the team heads south to Florida's Overseas Highway, one of the most photographed roads in the world, to make the four-hour trek from Miami to the "Conch Republic" of Key West. After you drive this picturesque highway, you'll see why it's appropriately numbered U.S. Highway 1. Don't miss out on the miniature deer, picturesque beaches, plus the most isolated national park in the country.
Make sure you don't miss this week's hour of roadtripping, talk, and fun on Road Trip Radio!
Tune in tonight for our Ode to Overseas basketball. We will be joined by a number of current and retired overseas basketball players who will share their experiences. If you are a fan of professional basketball or basketball in general, you need to tune in tonight.

(Reuters) - Nearly 30 million people are living in slavery across the globe, many of them men, women and children trafficked by gangs for sex work and unskilled labor, according to a global slavery index released on Thursday. It found that 10 countries accounted for 76 percent of the 29.8 million people living in slavery - India, China, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Russia, Thailand, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar and Bangladesh. Modern slavery was defined as human trafficking, forced labor, and practices such as debt bondage, forced marriage, and the sale or exploitation of children. The index by anti-slavery charity Walk Free Foundation ranked 162 countries on the number living in slavery, the risk of enslavement, and the strength of government responses to combating the illegal activity.

In the conclusion of my interview with Dan Coberly regarding American Scouting overseas we talk about what BSA Scouting has looked like in the War on Terrorism. Dan discusses how Scouting has popped up in Iraq and Afghanistan led by soldiers who are reaching out to the community. He also gives a neat history of the Overseas Arrowmen Association. This is Part II of my interview so if you missed the first part I invite you to listen to it in the archives or in iTunes.
Growing up on an Air Force Base in rural South Carolina I knew all about the Transatlantic Council and even had some members of my troop that had been in the Far East Council. So when I got in touch with Dan Coberly and found out he is a Distinguished Eagle with an incredible knowledge and history with American Scouting overseas I had to get him on the show. In this interview Dan talks about what BSA Scouting looks like in the far corners of the globe. I discovered many things I didn't know about a big Scouting including some information about the Direct Service Council. Since this is a show about patches of course in the interview we also zero in on the famous memorabilia from Baluga, Achsin and other far flung outposts.
I just spent two weeks teaching 4 companies about the power of vacations and the REAL costs for companies of not having the right balance. How is your company's vacation policy hurting your real productivity, creativity, and effectiveness?
We'll also have a good chat with Dave Werba of the Ewoth dictionary project talking about how new words are impacting our world.
What if you could learn one thing each week that improved your overall business performance by 1% per year. That would mean that after one year you could literally improve your business by more than 50% and all it would take is to learn from the lessons you are already being taught but are probably ignoring as you race ahead to put out more fires.
This show is all about fixing that by taking two hours out of your week to share your lessons and the lessons of our other listeners so we can all learn and improve even faster. And you know what that will mean before long? That we'll all have a lot fewer and easier fires to put out!
Think of this show as a global mastermind group with expert guests, technology reviews and more that help us learn about new tools, techniques, strategies, and ways that we can both improve our businesses and our lives.
