Welcome to another episode of Unspoken Words. Robert, Dan, Brittany and Jackie discuss honesty and communication. Honesty and communication sound cliche, but how honest should two people really be with each other? When it comes to talking about each others past and past relationships, what does the other person really deserve to know? Should we really discuss with each other the issues such as being attracted to another person while you're in a relationship? Do we discuss work place flirting? These are the tough questions that each couple has to confront and how you decide to communicate through these issues will have a huge affect on your relationships.
There are so many ways to communicate - phone, email, text, video conference, blogs and good old snail mail - yet our communications are often lacking in genuine meaning.
Modern technology has changed the way that we communicate forever; and is often seen as a barrier rather than an enhancer to effective communication. Yet, we can reach across both barriers and differences to build or strengthen relationships. The art of communication bridges that space. Effective communication is a true transfer of information. It's listening with compassion and understanding, and expressing ourselves in a manner that others can stop focusing on differences long enough to hear the message. Communication is an art form.
Our guest Audra Luke, has mastered the art of communication and shares her knowledge and techniques to help others, with a special focus on teens. Audra is a nationally acclaimed author, multimedia producer and writer with the special gift of reaching and inspiring an audience. Her dynamic work has been embraced through collaboration with celebrities such as Patti Labelle, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Alisha Keys, and Ludacris.
Join the show to find out more about her impactful work and to enhance your personal art of communication!

Listening is the ability to accurately receive and interpret messages in the communication process.

Albert Einstein has the best quotes ever! Here is one: “If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask, for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes.” What will it take for me to do what I know to do? That’s the question asked by the New Essenes, hinting at the communication problem that begins with me, and eventually translates into “no one gets me!” Well, if understanding the Self was so easy, what don’t you give it a chance?
But then, if I were to really hear me, I would have to stop resisting my own recipe for happiness. I would have to feel my feelings and welcome the rhythms of my soul – for fast or slow, for good or bad! I would have to change. So I much rather stay in my head, and disconnect from understanding, that is, from feeling for real what my heart is saying. Doing so, I cut myself off from language. Tune in for more...
The New Essenes is a gathering of ordinary people practicing deep introspection as a way to solve everyday problems. Our inquiry is based on the idea that language is alive and that the Word is where our Power lives: since speech is an act, communication is not what is said and done, but the result of what is said and done.
By joining in and coming back, we increasingly benefit from the distilled essence of an ultimate method of inquiry, based on Sacred Geometry and known as the Path of XPR.
