Joanna Langfield's Movie Minute Reviews of Pan and Steve Jobs.

    in Entertainment

12-year-old orphan Peter is spirited away to the magical world of Neverland, where he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny -- to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.

    Steve Jobs

It’s fitting, I suppose, that a movie about the complicated man behind Apple be complicated as well and, in that sense, this adventurous Danny Boyle/Aaron Sorkin spin succeeds. But, is that dazzle enough?

Using an unconventional and certainly theatrical conceit, Sorkin plots his story in three distinct acts, each set as Jobs is to unveil a revolutionary new product. The backstage dramas reveal his difficult relationships with his co-workers and family through the years and it’s a nifty trick.

Pet Peeves! The Things That Burn Our Biscuits!

    in Comedy

Have you ever felt that when you are trying to get right with the God and you are flying high and then life happens and you go from positive to profanity!

We all have been in that space when we believe you have reached that relationship with God or a spiritual realm and then that someone or something burns your biscuits?

If something is trifling it's unimportant, of no consequence — "a trifling detail."

Everything is relative, of course, and what might appear trifling to one person may take on a deep importance for another. Clues are classically trifling things. As Sherlock Holmes explains to Dr. Watson when faced with a seemingly minor detail: "It is, of course, a trifle, but there is nothing so important as trifles."

Join "Activate Your Highest Good" weekly live shows and podcasts featuring  Co-Hosts Kathleen Capela and Cheryl Katherine Wash in a rare and unpolitical and unconventional chat about the things that burn their biscuits.  Join in the fun.

Seth Cole, I was in the military for 4.5 years before being medically retired in 2009 due to a mark19 grenade that detonated in my face. I was lucky enough to make it back alive, and even luckier to still have all my limbs. Before I joined the military I taught Karate to kids and adults, and since I have gotten out of the Army I haven't really done much until about a year ago when I joined a company called Advocare I would help vets to find different services in the VA that they are eligible for, but also wanted to be able to help them to find a job as well if I could. If someone is local, I have a few friends who own their own businesses and I try and hook the ones up who aren't wanting to be a part of AdvoCare

Just Saying! - Talking Love Inspiration in Film - the Past and Present

    in Entertainment

Everyone has their own definition of love: how it is supposed to make you feel, how to recognize it when it happens, how losing it changes who you are and how you look at the next person to come along. This episode explores my personal favorites of those movies - love in all its forms, and the latest renditions that have helped to add to that formula. From the classics that I can watch over and over again to the new adaptations from some of my favorite cast and producers, these films will give you that warm, fuzzy feeling in the blood chamber that is the heart (if you get that reference, then you are an awesome person. If not, go watch Coneheads right now...yes, right now.) Love is unconventional and crazy but that is what we dig about it. We all remember our favorite moments in film about love, and I encourage you to check out the ones in mine. These films show just how true being in love is and nothing is better or crazier than that.

Some of my certifications are, 180-A Special Operations Technician, HALO (Military Freefall), Combat Diver, Operations and Intelligence (Cert).  He spent time in the 82nd Airborne, an instructor in Special Forces phase 3 Unconventional Warfare Committee at Camp McKall.  He was a member of the elite Greenlight Team, commonly known as P.I.G. 1 Team with multiple overseas deployments.  Since his retirement in 1992 he has worked high profile V.I.P. high risk protection details overseas. In 1992 he created American Extension Fighting.  As a Grand Master in American Open Style Karate Systems he felt it was essential to give back to his parent martial arts system.  For many years, he and most martial arts trained people take from the systems.  The mandate of the American Karate System is to give back once you attain a certain level.  Through personal close quarters combat, both on the battlefield, in bar rooms and in the street as well as the ring, he developed AEF which he consider a gap filler for otherwise uncovered areas for any martial arts system.  This can also take an individual who has otherwise never trained and provide self-defense that would thwart rape, beatings and offer simple protective strategies. With more than 40 years of formal fight training and having been in too many street fights, I have trained UFC fighters, government contract workers, Navy Seals, Army Special Forces and Rangers as well as professional kickboxers and boxers as seen on HBO and pay preview.

Yet that's exactly the path that Nehemiah Heckler has chosen to take. But the Chicago area lyricist is no stranger to going off the beaten path; his beats and rhymes are as unconventional and far reaching as his objective.
