The Don S. McClure Show Black History Awards Day Celebration 1998 - 2009 Black History Awards Day,
A concept given birth by admiration and respect. A concept that was inspired by those who came before me and left an indelible mark upon my mind. The very idea started after reading a few quotes by Carter G. Woodson and others like him.
Charles Chestnut, considered to be the first African American published fictional writer. One of the best known and most widely read of early African American writers, Charles W. Chesnutt published more than fifty short stories, six novels, two plays, a biography of Frederick Douglass, and countless essays, poems, letters, journals, and speeches. Though he had light skin and was of mixed race, Chesnutt self-identified as a black man, and his writing was often boldly political, openly addressing problems of racial identity and injustice in the late 19th century. and Arturo Alfonso Schomburg (January 24, 1874 – June 8, 1938), was a Puerto Rican historian, writer, and activist in the United States who researched and raised awareness of the great contributions that Afro-Latin Americans and Afro-Americans have made to society. He was an important intellectual figure in the Harlem Renaissance.
Their work took me on a journey to create something special and something that would offer just as much honor and respect for our achievements. Their efforts guided me to produce.

The Don S. McClure Show Live-Black History Leading Black Auto maker 1915
Mr. Charles Richard Patterson, founder of what was to become the world's first Black family owned automobile manufacturing company. The head of this remarkable family was Charles (Rich) Patterson. He was born a slave on a West Virginia plantation and learned blacksmithing skills that would prove useful through-out his life.
The C.R. Patterson & Son Carriage Company of Greenfield, Ohio became the nation's, and the world's, first and only African-American founded and owned automobile manufacturing company. The company began as a manufacturer of horse drawn carriages and ended up as a manufacturer of buses for both urban transportation systems and rural school needs.
In 1873 C.R. Patterson went into partnership with a white businessman, named J.P. Lowe. ten years later into the very successful business venture J. P. Lowe died leaving the business and sole ownership to C.R Patterson. There are some who say C.R. purchased the entire company from J.P before he died.
The C.R. Patterson Co. turned out 28 different types of horse-drawn vehicles.
The product line included buggies, backboards, phaetons, rockaways and surreys — the era's most popular wagons.
Patterson and his wife, the former Josephine Qutz, were the parents of four children: Katherine, Dollie, Frederick Douglass, and Samuel. It was Fred who helped guide the company into the Automobile Age in the early 20th century.

Blessings family and welcome back to another amazing show. When most people think about African American History, the first thing that comes to mind is slavery right? Well our History is much richer and goes deeper than that, we were and still are a Great people with great minds and a fascinating culture. Unfortunately not much of our history is taught in school but that shouldn't stop us from learing it and teaching it to our youth! God says, "My People Perish For Lack Of Knowledge" and that's exactly whats happening to our people because we have no idea how great we are nor do we realize all that we have contributed to society.

The Don S. McClure Show- Having a Winning Personality, In Love, Business, and Friendship.
One of the most key factors in being successful in any area is your personality, and no matter if it is in your personal relationships, for love and desire, or business and trade, or even friendship and personal with your siblings, children, parents, or your best and closes friends.
That spark that makes everyone or almost everyone want to be around you is important.
Think about that favorite actor or actress that you watch in a film and you say to yourself, I like him or her. Or that business leader that you admire who they react to the public and how they explain how much respect they have for their parents or associates who helped them make it or he causes the champion just because. And think about the personality of the Presidents, whether it’s President Bill Clinton, or President Barack Obama, or even the first lady Michelle, and Nelson Mandela, or Julius Nyerere.
Your winning personality can take you far in business and in love and it does no matter if you are introverted or extroverted.
The question is can you become a forced “EXTROVERT” and are their such personalities?

The Don S. McClure Show Live Conversations - Between Friends, family & Lovers.
Each day a conversation will arrive between possibly your closes friends, your lover or mate, and there will come some days you will discuss your personal feelings with a family member you feel close too such as a parent, or older brother or sister and maybe even a younger sibling.
The conversations will vary from the events in your day to your expectations of what things will go in your day, your week and even your future plans for the month. Then there will be those private conversations about your dreams, your ambitions, your health, your feelings and your love life.
Each of these will become of great significance in your mind, your heart and your decisions. The most important question you will be faced with is; what details do you revel on an honest level and will you make any decision based on these conversations.
But what will be so vital in all of these places you seek confirmation or affirmation will be, have you had an honest conversation with yourself before you have a conversation with any one else.
