A Book and a Chat with Marcia H. Black

    in Books

The very first guest on "A Book and a Chat" was my friend and fellow author Kim Smith, well it's not Kim on today's program but her sister "Marcia H. Black"
Marcia is the author "tweener" book "One Time"
Having a son of that age bracket myself I know how hard it is to find something that age group would like to read, but in the case of "One Time" I think Marcia has hit that requirement
Looking forward to chatting to her...

NFL Draft Prospect - Montana State DE/OLB Caleb Schreibeis

    in Sports

Caleb Schreibeis capped one of the most spectacular seasons in Montana State's defensive history with the school’s first-ever Buck Buchanan Award as the top defensive player in the FCS. Schreibeis forced eight fumbles, the most in NCAA football in 2012 and also chosen for the 2013 East-West Shrine Game, and consensus First Team All-America. One of the most polite players I've interviewed and I've interviewed a few hundred.
Invited to the East West Shrine game, Schreibeis over the two days I covered the practices held his own and a couple times I jotted down his name being praised by coaches during drills. A bit of a tweener at the next level NFL scouts now will focus on how best Schreibeis will fit their systems in the National Football League.

    Chatting with Jimmy "JD" Gordon

    in Books

Firefighter and paramedic-turned-author Jimmy (J.D.) Gordon was born and raised in Chicago where he developed a taste for the finer things that the Windy City has to offer - pan pizza, live blues and the Cubs.    Jimmy dropped into the world of literature, literally. After falling off a train and breaking his knee Jimmy had to spend quite a bit of time recuperating. While visiting the firehouse his peers asked what he planned to with all that time away. This when Jimmy said the words that he now claims to have changed his life. "I should write a book." Despite some skepticism from his peers ("You don't even use punctuation on your run reports!"), he completed a novel, Island Bound, and made it a point to use punctuation throughout.   Another injury, sustained on the job, ended his career in the fire service. Aside from writing Gordon spends his Spring and Summer as an umpire for high school and youth baseball. He now lives with his wife and children in Glen Ellyn IL, a suburb of Chicago.

Players Platform Show: Darius Fleming, Notre Dame OLB

    in Sports

Arguably quickest and most effective edge rusher on Irish roster, Flemning has played with hand on ground as defensive end as well as lined up in two-point stance as outside linebacker. The Chicago native, is one of the more interesting NFL prospects heading into the 2012 NFL Draft. Fleming well put together 'tweener' type who played from a two and three-point stance for the Figthing Irish.
Finished with 15 career sacks but it's his all around game that stands out and when you glance at the stat page, you'll find a player who is diverse in all aspects. Able to make tackles, break-up passes or hurry the quarterback Fleming shows up.

Player Spotlight Show: Aaron Morgan, Louisiana-Monroe

    in Sports

Today’s guest Aaron Morgan of Louisiana-Monroe on the NFL Draft Bible Player Spotlight Show is the classic tweener defensive end/outside linebacker who brings a ton of ability to rush the passer. Standing at 6’4” and 242 pounds Morgan earned All Sun-Belt Conference with nine sacks in 2009 and finishing his career with 22 as a Warhawk. When you compare his workout numbers they fare comparably too many players who share the defensive end position/outside linebacker role. Morgan did his training with Ignition APG and obviously his time there proved its worth as Morgan has become a hot commodity in NFL circles. Join host Bo Marchionte for another addition of the NFL Draft Bible Player Spotlight Show. www.nfldraftbible.com
