Travis Bryan III notes: "This Golden Rule requires that we treat others, in advance, exactly as we hope they will treat us later, exactly as we want to be treated. It is a unilateral action by its observer. The observer of this rule contemplates that others will not appreciate what he has done for them, will take advantage of his kindness, or give him no credit for the good deeds he does. He goes ahead and does them anyway.
Golden Rule observance is the mindset of God. He loved us when we were still His enemies. He did not treat us the way we first had treated Him. He did not fight against us or protect Himself from us. He made Himself vulnerable to us. He suffered and died for us. He first loved us hoping we would someday love Him back. He did unto us exactly as He hoped we would do unto Him but He knew we probably would not.
Do you want people to forgive you unconditionally after you have wronged them ? This is what God does for us and what the Golden Rule asks us to do.
Do you want people to love you when you are wrong? Give you good things even when you have done evil to them? Treat you well even you have treated them shabbily? Do you want people to turn the other cheek to you? Or to loan to you when you don’t deserve it and have no visible means of paying back? To treat you the way you would want to be treated especially in a situation where you don’t deserve it. They would be keeping the Golden Rule toward you.
Do you want non-retaliation in return for your offenses? To give someone a lemon but see them make you some lemonade from it? They would be giving you golden rule treatment."
Friday, June 26th, 2015 marks the day the United States Supreme Court (SCOTUS) completed what it started exactly three years to the day, June 26, 2013 when it announced a 5-4 Ruling in favor of the plaintiff Edith Windsor. On the eve of multiple Pride celebrations, in a 5-4 decision, SCOTUS ruled once again in favor of the Petitioners James Obergefell (et. al.). Result: marriage equality applies to all States of the United States of America.

Outsports ran a letter from a closeted Division I college basketball player who is gay, who is wrestling with whether he should come out. "I would like other people to see another gay athlete successfully playing in Division 1 athletics. I would like for a teenager battling the same things I struggled with to see that things will work out and to not stress about something that seems so major but is really something minor. I would like to see the LGBT community grow within athletics."
Yet he is still weighing his ultimate decision.
This episode explores genuine gratitude:
how to recognize it
how to detect crafty forms of manipulation.
