Tonight we are joined by Brien Foerster to discuss his research into the ancient elongated skulls of Peru.
Brien Foerster was raised on the west coast of Canada, where he developed a fascination for the Native people, their art, and oral traditions. This led to his becoming a professional sculptor, after graduating with an honours BSc degree from the University Of Victoria. In 1995, he moved to Maui, Hawaii, and was hired as assistant project manager for the building of the 62 foot double hull sailing canoe (ancestor of the modern day catamaran) and the restoration of the famous Mo'olele sailing canoe. He started an online outrigger paddle business, which flourished internationally.
Peru became his next major area of interest. The study of the Inca culture led to his writing a book, A Brief History of the Incas, and he is now the assistant director of the Paracas History Museum in Paracas, south of Lima.

We always have people ready to call us names or belittle what we do. Jealousy and ignorance are all too present in some people, while others are just scared and don’t like to see or hear anything new. This is especially evident now. With so much chaos going on all around us in every element of our physical world - politics, weather, social interactions and on. Are you finding even more people saying you are crazy? Or stupid? Or asking if you have lost your mind as you speak about new things or changes in your own life, the lives of those around you or society in general? Even friends and relatives? Maybe especially them.
It’s not about you! It is always - ALWAYS - about them. We will talk about this truth during the show and a lot more. Our great friend Niketa Casales, who has been travelling the globe and learning from elders of many cultures, will be here to join us as well. We really want to hear your thoughts on this topic, since it has come up in many past shows. Now it gets its’ own space.
The talking stick is now YOURS! Come join us and share your thoughts - or decide to just listen.
We invite listeners to come and participate in the discussion and the sharing of knowledge. And we thank all our listeners for truly “being” the shows we air. Join us!

Patricia J. Turner (Pati) is a Biological Anthropologist who spent 12 years working as a Marine Scientist. During that time she began studying anthropology and became deeply committed to conserving the wisdom of our indigenous brothers and sisters who still live sustainably on Mother Earth. In 2004 she Founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization: Tierra Sagrada, The Sacred Earth Foundation dedicated to the conservation of indigenous cultures, their territories and their wisdom.
During the last 15 years, The Sacred Earth Foundation has hosted indigenous Shamans, Elders and Medicine Women from Greenland to Peru to share their wisdom within our communities. Profound healing both physical and spiritual has been witnessed during these workshops and private healing ventures. The Sacred Earth Foundation also offers opportunities for Sacred Sweat Lodges, programs of initiations, ancient traditional weddings and, in May, they will offer the ceremony of The Long Dance in the traditon of Beautiful Painted Arrow, a Picurus Pueblo/ Ute Native American who is a visionary of highest esteem.
During her journey on this path, Pati has found immense joy in the guidance she has received. She has seen many young adults, who carried great fear over the condition of Mother Earth, find a new way of walking on her skin with great hope for the future. In a culture that is so plagued with depression, she has witnessed the healing joy that accompanies the ancient ceremonies and beliefs of our great teachers who live in harmony with Mother Earth.
