Approximately 40% of homeless youth are LGBTQ. Nearly all homeless youth service providers in the U.S. now serve our youth but very few are exclusively by, for and about LGBTQ Youth.
Joining Ina, Teresa and Michelle on CAN WE TALK FOR REAL on Wednesday August 20, 2014 is Jerry Peterson, Executive Director of The Ruth Ellis Center in Highland Park, Michigan serving the metro-Detroit community. The Ruth Ellis Center is a youth social services agency that serves the needs of runaway, homeless and at-risk youth. Incorporated in 1999, it is one of the nation’s leading organizations focusing on vulnerable youth who are experiencing residential instability
Being homeless brings its own level of stigma to LGBTQ youth and the definition for homelessness defies traditional boundaries. Many youth say “I have a home. I just don’t want to go there”. Opting for alternative housing (couch surfing, etc.) and/or the streets over unstable households. Sex trafficking transactional sex, even suicide are day –to-day realities. What can we do?
Peterson will be talking about the “Family Acceptance Project” which focuses on the harmful effects of family rejection and the importance of engaging family members who are outed by their children and other options for our youth than the dangers/victimization on the streets.
America’s next generation of LGBTQ youth need us to stand with them so that they can stand on their own. How can you help? Tune in Wednesday, August 20, 2014 to CAN WE TALK FOR REAL and be a part of the solution.
Join us in the fight to save our YOUTH. Call in 347-215-8985, show starts at 10:30est/9:30cst. Press 1 to speak.

What you say after you say “hello” can make all the difference as to the course your life path may take, win or lose, stressed Eric Berne, M.D.. Berne, the author of What Do You Say After You Say Hello?, also, authored the runaway best seller of the late 1960s, Games People Play, and was the architect of Transactional Analysis (TA).
By way of introducing her “Lean In” Legacy Template, show host, Anastasia Rosen-Jones, draws upon this central tenet of TA theory. To create this template, Anastasia, a retired psychotherapist, Certified Transactional Analyst and Gestalt therapist, builds on more than forty years of analyzing and treating dysfunctional relationship patterns.
Anastasia's skeletal framework, The “Lean In” Legacy Template, is designed to spotlight transformational opportunities for turning polarization into progress in human affairs. Anastasia offers her template as a guidebook, for those who would seek the “possible” in ourselves and with one another.
The “template" is, likely, to become the centerfold for this program's identity. In this episode, co-host, Jack Slattery, invites Anastasia to share the background stories behind the creation of this new tool, “The Lean In Legacy Template,” and the pathways she traveled on both her, professional and personal journeys, to design it.
Last week i was in Toronto for the excellent unconference Recruitfest09. Recruiters from all over America & Canada (& me as a token Brit), talking recruiting & recruiting issues.
My track focussed on Phoenix Recruiting, making the most of the recovery. The discussions concluded with "Recruitment: Transactional or Relational in the future." I will share the views of the recruiters present as well as those of Gerry Crispin who hosted the closing track. All callers very welcome for what promises to be a lively debate.

Fast Talk with Vickey Wachtel and Co-Host Courtney Barker with special guest Kathie Norris
Buying a home can be one of the most stressful times in a person’s life. It can also be one of the most rewarding.
Kathie Norris's goal is for each customer to feel comfortable throughout the loan process. Communication is key to a streamlined process. I take the time to explain the process and keep the customer updated on what stage we are in.
I think it is very important for the borrower to have an advocate at their closing in addition to their Real Estate Agent. I make every attempt to attend all of my closings.
I am not a transactional loan specialist; I am a relational loan specialist. I am interested in building a trusted and lasting relationship with my customers. I am honored to say that many of my customers have become friends.
Welcome to The Healthy Baby Boomers Network Blog Talk Radio Show. I am your host, Dr. Erica Goodstone, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Spiritual Relationship Healing Expert Helping Men and Women Heal Their Bodies and Their Relationships Through Love, author of the book: Love Me, Touch Me, Heal Me, director of HealthyBabyBoomersNetwork.com and Healing Through Love Seminar leader.
In this show I am talking with Dr. Debra Wingfield, author and Trainer in Family Violence Treatment and Prevention. Dr. Wingfield developed and taught a domestic violence counselor training curriculum at the University of Southern Colorado, now Colorado State University-Pueblo. As a practicing counselor from 1975 – 2002 with delinquent youth, families with child abuse and neglect issues, adults and children from all dysfunctional family types, and domestic violence victims, child witness/victims, and offenders, Dr. Wingfield designed and implemented programs that address these issues. In her research, she used a transactional analysis model exploring adult perceptions of family of origin dynamics related to alcoholic, abusive, and chronic illness families. She holds a master’s degree in Counseling and Organizational psychology and doctorate in Counselor Education.
Even if you are divorced and living separately from your childrens’ other parent, do you still feel controlled? Do you feel like your ex is still trying to control you through manipulation or through your children? When you think about your ex as a co-parent, do the words “control freak” describe that person?
Listen carefully because even if YOU do not have this problem someone you know may need help - and quickly.
