Listen in as we chat with Cimarron Chacon, President of Gro Promotions. We'll discuss what she has going on in Southwestern Utah.
Gro Promotions, Frog Hollow races and the True Grit were conceived as a way to build their cycling culture by bringing mountain bikers together, to improve their communities awareness of Mountain Biking and all its benefits, and to showcase the amazing terrain and extensive network of trails found in Southwestern Utah to new riders.
Still in it's infancy, the True Grit Epic has become the season opener for the National Endurance Series.
Tonight two race organizers will be joining me to talk about their upcoming races both being held the weekend of Sept 1st.
Perry Jewett puts on the renowned Dakota 5-0 (http://www.dakotafiveo.com/). This will be the 13th year of it's running. The Dakota 5-0 takes riders through some of South Dakota's best mountain bike trails. It is a very popular race in the area and draws racers from around the country to battle it off for 50 miles
Todd Sadow of Epic Rides(http://www.epicrides.com/) will also be joining us to discuss his new race, The Grand Junction Off-Road race. Todd is well known for his highly attended race, The Whiskey Off-Road, held in Prescott, AZ every year. Both of his races offer very high cash purses for the Pro field which draw some of the World's top riders to the event.
May 2, 7:30 am Mountain Time.
Race director of the new X100, John Kolarevic, joins the show to discuss his new Michigan endurance mountain bike race set for August 24th near Traverse City.
Listeners are welcome to call in and ask about the event. Are you wondering about the schedule or the course, this is your chance to get the exact info!
Description from the X100 Race Website:
"The X100, Michigan’s Ultimate Mountain Bike Xventure, starts and finishes at Beautiful RANCH RUDOLF nestled right on the Boardman River just 15 miles South of Traverse City.
The race is 100 miles of twisting single track that winds in and out of county gravel roads, two tracks and fire roads. Bikers roll through the most beautiful terrain Michigan has to offer: deep woods and steep hills dotted with pristine lakes, streams and ponds. The X100 has some killer cross-country riding – until now – known only by die-hard locals."
This show is brought to you by FOOTBrake and ProGold.

Our guests today: Elizabeth Warren is a Regional Organizer for MoveOn.org, based in Southern California. As coordinator for MoveOn's national TPP team she connects allies with a network of MoveOn councils working to educate the public about the Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Agreement. The group's aim is to make sure details of proposed trade agreements get a public hearing and debate, by urging Congress to say no to the president's request for fast track, aka trade promotion authority. Liz began her career as a journalist and came to political activism late, after stints as a newspaper columnist, magazine editor, and advertising copywriter. She did a 12-year stretch as a corporate publicist, and still has the BS decoder-ring, which comes in handy during interactions with politicians. When not organizing, she does online editing, often blogs, and still writes for magazines, occasionally about politics, but usually about other subjects. Liz was born in New York and educated in the Midwest. In 1997 she moved to California, where she married and conveniently ended up with a memorable name. Andrea Miller was the 2008 Congressional Candidate for the 4th District. Currently she is Deputy Field Director for PDA and Co-State Coordinator for PDA Virginia. Since 2008 Andrea has been very active on the ERA both in Virginia and nationally. Andrea is one of the leaders of PDA's ERA 3 State Strategy team
