Episode #5: Are you a Scanner?
In her book, Refuse to Choose award-winning author Barbara Sher talks about “scanners”; people who have so many interests that they’re unable to choose only one. According to Sher, scanners aren’t dilettantes or undisciplined, and they don’t change interests because of A.D.D. or a fear of success. “They seem to be highly intelligent, multi-talented people who need to have more interests than the average person.” As you can imagine, this topic really hit a nerve with people when the book was published and caused a huge sigh of relief from many wonderful individuals struggling to make sense if their scanner-wired life (gasp!).
Join your hosts, Mildred Lynn and Madonna MacInnis as they share their personal insights and real life stories about the amazing world of scanners (or to use another term “multi-potential-ites”). You’ll also enjoy their heart-centered exploration of three key questions: "What is a scanner?", "What isn’t a scanner?”, and "How do you navigate life (feel good about yourself) from a scanner perspective?”. You’ll love it!

Racism is a cold war.
As those who have enjoyed the cold war are growing frustrated with more and more people finding out it exists, we're seeing a desparation for it to heat and be an open and honest hot war.

communications chair of the Minneapolis NAACP, shocked CNN when she told reporter Brooke Baldwin that Black Lives Matter has in essence indicted the Minneapolis Police Department in the shooting of five people during a protest early Tuesday morning.
“We’re hearing two [arrests] at this time, but we don’t necessarily trust that. We know that the police department is behind this, this is our personal belief after receiving witness accounts.”
ACCORDING TO HIS POWER!
Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power that working in us (Ephesians 3:21). All power belongs to him. In order to access the power of God, that God has put in us, we have to humble our spirit. Put on the spirit of meekness, allowing God to be that power working within in you. It is because of Him that we move, we live, and we have our being (Acts 17:28). It is through God’s Spirit we have access to His power. Ye shall have power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you (Acts 1:8). What is the power that you humble yourself under? God gives us power to gain wealth to establish his covenant (Deuteronomy 8:18). Josiah became king at eight years old. He knew not to follow his father’s footsteps, who served idols and not the true God. The prophetess Huldah was the influence that helped him develop a God-fearing heart. His great grandfather was Hezekiah, who loved and served God. Just as Josiah found a God-fearing person to follow, we have that same opportunity to choose whom we will follow. Josiah’s reign as king was never about following and pleasing the people. Through meekness, he was a powerful King that pleased his God!

It’ Is All About Him and Not About Them!
Chuck McDonald is truly a project that God the Father is continually working on. The clay in the hands of the Potter. Chuck was saved on November 30th, 1992. He went to an altar a sex-addict and arose a new creation. He spent several years in the IPHC Conference working with youth. When he married he moved into the Church of God where he lead worship and taught. After being awakened to the real, burning desire God has placed in us for a relationship, not a slave to Christianity, Chuck and his wife Cherie began ministering to the local community with weekly services, housing troubled youth and opening a thrift store that reaches the poor, lost and homeless people in the local community.
Chuck’s world was altered in the summer of 2011, when while out on a normal Friday night at a local restaurant, Jesus made Himself famous. A local man down on his luck entered the restaurant selling shelled pecans to make pocket change. He limped around the dining hall visiting every table. Finally he arrived at Chuck’s table wanting $2 for a bag of pecans. Well one of his spiritual kids handed the man $2, told the man to keep the pecans and asked very pointedly to pray for his foot. The man agreed and after the prayer said thank you and walked out of the establishment with no limp. To everyone’s amazement at the table. The man then returned into the center of the dining hall and said ” My foot don’t hurt anymore”. The place erupted with praise and glory and even amazement. That Jesus would actually show up on a Friday night in the middle of a small town restaurant and do something only He can get the credit for.
THERE CANNOT BE TWO CAPTAINS!
So many times I was like Gideon, hiding out, afraid of confrontation. I just wanted to be peaceful and let God work it all out for me. God was steadily telling me there is a war going. I had to pick up my weapons (my cross) take a stand and follow Him! After choosing His will over my will....then... God fought for me. Must, stand firm and fearlessly on His word. Show up for the battle. Then watch God win! God will show His strength and prove His greatest, every time! Who is fighting your battles? Gideon chose to believe God. He spoke with faith, strength and authority. God anointed him, with his Holy Spirit is. He allowed God to be his Captain. That is how Gideon was able to gather 3000 men, using only 300 to win battle, that he did not fight in. He walked, fearlessly, under God’s leadership.
Let us look stepwise at what Gideon did: 1. An angel appeared to him and declared who he really was. 2. He believed his words. 3. Following instructions-Gideon took action, because faith without works is dead. 4. Gideon reaffirms his instructions by fleecing God for 100% clear directions. 5. He proceeds to the promise. Nothing will stop him now!
