Episode 13: A candid convo with Washington Post reporter Soraya N. McDonald

    in Writing

This week’s episode features a candid conversation with Washington Post reporter Soraya McDonald. In this interview, you’ll recognize right away the wit that shades much of her prose.  Soraya is a graduate of Howard University and began covering the high school sports desk as an college intern. After traveling across the country completing journalism fellowship, internships, and eventually employment, Soraya returned to the Washington Post where she eventually became a staff reporter.

I discovered her work last year when I read an article about a female gamer who had received death threats. Soraya had been covering the story for some time, and I wanted her to speak to my article writing class.

That didn’t happen, but I’m glad this did! I’ll release her bonus material which includes a how-to make the most out of your college experience, a segment particularly helpful for students.

In this show, you also get the 411 on a new daily humor site, The Reject Pile. Founded by writer Joel Miller, the site wants your unwanted work. Thank goodness somebody finally does!

It's A Mind Thing! Where Is My Power, Lord!

    in Religion

Exercise the discipline of believing God’s word. He said if you love me you’ll keep my commandments. In doing so you allow the fruit of the Spirit to be the power that is manifested in your life.  The word “great” is always associated with our God. God is great. He is greatly to be praised. No greater love has no man than this. So, as children of God, we want great results in our lives too! God also commands us to abide in his love. Do like Jesus did when he walked in earth. He said, I do the work of my Father (John 10:37). Jesus left beautiful modeling for us of how to walk and work. In order to have great results and great outcome the source of what we do has to be from our God. When we abide in him we exude the fruit of the spirit, in every situation.

it's A Mind Thing! The Great Escape!

    in Religion

In  2015 The Manifestations Of God Will Be Seen!

May is the fifth month of the year. The number five symbolizes God's grace, goodness, and favor toward humans and is mentioned 318 times in Scripture. This grace and favor allows you to obtain joy.

I Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.  This is the grace-producing joy, that God has for you. It is not something that we have earned… But is what our father sacrificed His life for...that your joy may be full ( John 15:11).

    in Current Events

Welcome to this episode of Disabled Veteran Radio todays topics - Veterans Administration Secretary Robert A. McDonald states that the reason I had a grease gun stuck up my ass on The U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln CVN 72 in November of 1989 is beacuse I was drunk ! What a Gosh Darn Lie !

Also a Reporter who did a story on me back in 2007 Ben Montgomery from Tampa Bay Times. He is now all over the news because he was privy to the 61 one year old Doug Hughes mail man out of Riverview, Florida who just landed his protest gyrocopter packed with 535 letters addressed to U.S. Capitol to draw attention to campaign fiance reform. I am trying to get Americas attention to tell you how The Veterans Administration is still cooking the books and how they will not fully compensate Disabled Veterans that were misdiagnosed with personality disorder which made thousands miss out on Veterans Benefits for years. The correct Diagnoses on the Date Of Disacharge should have been P T S D resulting in a Disability Rating.
