Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty Discusses American Hunter

    in Christianity

Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty Discusses American Hunter

New York Times bestselling author and star of A&E’s Duck Dynasty, Willie Robertson, teams up with William Doyle, the bestselling co-author ofAmerican Gun, to share the history of America’s most well known hunters.

American Hunter is the first book ever to compile a chronological history of America’s greatest hunters. Based on the powerful personalities of colorful men and women, this book begins with the Plains Indians and moves through legendary hunters like Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett, Kit Carson, Buffalo Bill, Teddy Roosevelt, Ernest Hemingway, Lyndon Johnson, and more. Also included are the histories of American fox, rabbit, deer, squirrel, duck, goose, and big-game hunting, as well as action biographies of classic hunting weapons.

Author Willie Robertson, famed hunter of Duck Dynasty and Duck Commander, lends his voice to share this bodacious collection of true stories that you’ll want to tell around the campfire after a long day’s hunt.

As Teddy Roosevelt put it, “The virility, clear-sighted common sense and resourcefulness of the American people is due to the fact that we have been a nation of hunters and frequenters of the forest, plains, and waters.” It’s about time we honor American hunters with a book that tells their incredible stories of skill, courage, survival, and downright bodaciousness.

American Hunter is the perfect book for everyone who enjoys amazing tales of American history and for those who love hunting, sport shooting, and wide open spaces.

The Strong Stance Reflects on FTMFitCon2015

    in LGBT

I recently presented at the FTM Fitness Conference in Atlanta. It was three days of speakers, breakout sessions and events focused on the acknowledgement, discussion, education and celebration of transgender fitness in all forms: physical, emotional, mental and financial. This was the second year for the FTMFitcon, which will soon be going thru a rebranding of sorts…but we’ll get to that later. For most people that have heard of FTMFitCon, they know it as the ‘First FTM Bodybuilding Competition’, but that event is just one aspect of the conference. In addition to the historic bodybuilding competition, there was a fashion show, morning bootcamps, a wellness fair, more than 20 workshops and discussions and a closing ceremony and reception.  Among the keynote speakers were Buck Angel, Ryan Sallans, Dr. Kortney Ziegler, and Tracee McDaniel (who has appeared on The Strong Stance a number of previous times).

I attended the conference in a number of different capacities. Primarily, I was there as a session presenter, but I was also there as an attendee and as press. In tonight’s episode of The Strong Stance, we’re gonna do something a little different. I’ll talk a bit about my session presentation and my experiences as an attendee, but more importantly, I’ll talk to a number of attendees as well as FTM Fitness World founder and president, Neo Sandja. You won’t want to miss this, so stay tuned.

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Henri Crokett. Henri Crockett, a native of Pompano Beach, Fla., and a graduate of Blanche
Ely High School, is not afraid of hard work and interesting challenges when
it comes to achieving success on and off the gridiron.
As a youth Henri was recognized as an All-American Athlete in Parade
Magazine¹s Super Prep and Football Report.
After accomplishing a stellar high school athletic performance, Henri earned

Actress Bresha Webb (NBC's Truth Be Told & TV One's Love That Girl)

    in Entertainment

Tune in to another special edition of That's Entertainment as I talk with actress/comedian Bresha Webb.  Bresha is best known for such stand out dramatic roles on ABC's, "Grey Anatomy," and "Private Practice", TNT's "Raising The Bar," and Showtimes' "Weeds," just to name a few.  But it was her break out role on "ER" as "Dr. Lavern St John" that put her on the map as a raising star. And lets not forget her lovable and hilarious character of "Imunique" on the TV One series, "Love That Girl." In the comedy world, Bresha made a splash appearing on the short lived FOX sketch comedy show “In the Flow with Affion Crockett,” produced by Jamie Foxx. Although the show was not on the air long, it gave Bresha the chance to showcase her talent outside of the dramatic roles she had previously portrayed.  Today, comedy remains one of her hobbies and passions, as she performs stand up in her spare time across the country. In 2014, she starred in CBS Diversity Showcase and auditioned for SNL. She also completed the Kevin Hart pilot "Keeping it Together" for ABC.  Now Bresha will be starting on the new comedy series, "Truth Be Told," which will premiere on Friday night at 8:30pm ET on NBC.   Tune in on Thursday, October 15 at 11am ET as I talk with the very talented and funny, Bresha Webb on www.blogtalkradio.com/tammyjones-gibbs or call in to listen at 347-637-2656

Third & Short: Fantasy Football Week 3

    in Sports

Host Wanda Wiedman shares Fantasy Sits and Starts on behalf of NFLFemale Fantasy Football reporter Noopur Bakshi,

Noopur apologizes for sitting out Tom Brady and insists that he starts this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. With Jonny Manziel out and Josh McCown in for the Cleveland Browns, she suggests Derek Carr of the Oakland Raiders for your sleeper QB.

Start running back Carlos Hyde of the 49ers and sit Alfred Morris of the Washington Redskins. But if you have Matt Jones start as a sleeper.

Wide receiver Julian Edelman of the New England Patriots is a must start. He is one of the best slot receivers in the league. However sit Andre Johnson of the Indianapolis Colts, as his stats have been dismal since competing with Frank Gore and T.Y. Hilton.

Start Jason Witten of the Dallas Cowboys for your tight end and sit Julius Thomas of the Jaguars. Sleeper pick is Crockett Gilmore of the Baltimore Ravens. He has become Joe Flacco's go-to guy and they mesh well together.

Start the Seattle Seahawks as your defense against the imploding Chicago Bears and sit the Detroit Lions against the Broncos. Peyton Manning will slice through the Lions defense with ease.
