Daily Bible Reflections - Genesis 3:19

    in Religion

I want to welcome you to the Daily Bible Reflections Class where each day a verse is given from God's Word that allows us the opportunity to comment on or share the meaning of His Word with other Believers and with those who are new in their faith and need understanding regarding Scriptural meaning and interpretation. Along with the invitation to share a personal interpretation there is also a Thought to Consider reference that encourages us to apply the verse to our own personal lives. All comments are welcomed from all faiths with Jesus being the common denominator and love being the standard for each of our comments to one another. Let's now begin our discussion of God's Holy Word. We have been talking about the Fall of Man in this week's episode as we explore the Book of Genesis and its meaning in regards to our Christian faith. Today's Bible verse comes from the Book of Genesis, Chapter 3, verse 19. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.” For those of you who are just joining the discussion, this is God talking to Adam after he had eaten from the TKGE. In previous episodes we have discussed what this tree represents and have decided that it probably represents a set of laws that God established in the beginning when He divided Light from Darkness, Good from Evil. Since eating from the tree, man would now be under the curse of the law. And this curse is death.TTC: If we look at this passage from a spiritual perspective, then what kind of bread do you think God is referring to? From a spiritual perspective, the bread God is referring to is the teachings of the Law that came from the tree. And the fruit of this tree would bring death. We need to look at two verses.

Daily Bible Reflections - Genesis 3:17-18

    in Religion

I want to warmly welcome you to the Daily Bible Reflections Class where each day a Bible verse is given from God's Word that allows us the opportunity to comment on or share the meaning of His Word with other Believers and perhaps with those who are new in their faith and need understanding regarding Scriptural meaning and interpretation. Along with the invitation to share a personal interpretation of the verse there is also a Thought to Consider reference that encourages us to apply the daily verse to our own personal lives. All comments and encouragements are welcomed from all faiths with Jesus being the common ground of belief and love being the guiding force behind each of our comments to one another. With that said, let's now begin today's discussion of God's Holy Word. Intro to Episode:We have been talking about the Fall of Man in our last week's episode and will continue this discussion for this week as we explore the Book of Genesis and its meaning in regards to our Christian faith. Today's Bible verse comes from the Book of Genesis, Chapter 3, verses 17-18.  Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:“Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field.

Is Your Hebrew Bible Original? Or A Translation? -/h Paul Rakowicz

    in Christianity

Is Your Hebrew Bible Original? Or A Translation?-w/host Paul Rakowicz AND Special Guest Karl Honegger, a current subscriber of our eSFP and LXX afficianado

    Essential Spiritual Fitness Program (eSFP)

Saturday, March 21, 2015 AD, 11:00 AM EST

This Saturday we take a break in our series looking at ALL the covenants of Scripture to invite special guest, Karl Honegger, who is a current subscriber of the eSFP, to share a little bit about his faith journey and his love of the Septuagint.

For thousands of years there has always been only "one" Hebrew language BUT IT HAS TWO DIFFERENT SCRIPTS. The exact date is unknown, but it is believed that around 597 B.C. the Scribes BEGAN TRANSLATING all the Paleo-Hebrew scrolls INTO Babylonian-Hebrew AND THE LANGUAGE WAS REPLACED GRADUALLY OVER TIME. Credit is given to Ezra the scribe, whom refined the letters while in exile in Babylon. Thus, is the origin for its name, Babylonian-Hebrew. Unfortunately THERE ARE NO Paleo-Hebrew scrolls IN EXISTENCE TODAY. It is believed THAT ALL THE OLD SCROLLS IN THE ORIGINAL PALEO-HEBREW DISINTEGRATED BEFORE JESUS CHRIST WAS BORN.

Conclusion: The Septuagint is no more a "translation" than the modern day hebrew text. They both are a translation from the original language which is no longer extant. Which means, if you want to actually study "God's Word", you'll first have to decide which "translation" you will use ... the bible of the Synagogue (the Masoretic text) ... or the Bible of Christ's Church (the Septuagint).
