For the first 18 or so years of your life, your parent’s job was to teach, provide and guide, often giving unsolicited advice or overriding your choices. Then comes the day when you’re grown and on your own, and your parents can’t seem to loosen their grip – allowing you to be an independent adult.
There are many adults who feel that their parents don’t know their place, and over-step their boundaries – going as far as picking the right man or woman as your mate; telling you how to raise your children; and even being too involved in your relationship or marriage.
On this episode of Hot Topics Talk Radio, we’re going to delve into those “controlling parents who won’t butt-out” of their adult children’s life.

Interracial relationships are on a rise in the United States. Interracial married couples grew by 28 percent from 2000 to 2010, making 8.4 percent of all current U.S. marriages mixed-raced.
So, it’s no surprise that there has been an explosion of television shows featuring interracial couples. However, mainstream television series that portray Black people in interracial relationships – with Black women in particular – appear to far outnumber programs depicting Black couples.
In 1975, “The Jefferson" was the first television series to garner attention to featuring the first African American/Caucasian marriage. The series ran for 10-years. Just recently, there has been a huge influx of television shows that promote interracial relationship – with its most popular and most controversial – ABC’s "Scandal".
On this episode of Hot Topics Talk Radio, we’re going to examine the rise of shows which promote interracial relationships, and the decrease of shows that depict Black relationships and marriages. We are asking the question, “Is Black marriage going away in mainstream television?”

More times than not, single people have more advice for married couples or individuals, when it comes to how they should handle situations in their marriage. How many times have you heard a single person say to their married friend, “I wouldn’t put up with that” or even go as far as saying, “You just need to leave”?
A single friend is not the only element of possible marital destruction. There are also issues of money, career, children and even extended family situations that can interrupt the harmony of a marriage.
On this episode of “Real Talk with Pastor Ray”, we’re going to discuss putting the armor on and how to “Bullet Proof” your marriage.
