My guest this week on The Good Radio Network are Kevin and Sarah Goryl, founders of TOO.Apparel, an underwear company that was founded to help woman and children find a better future.
Kevin wanted to do something to remember a friend who had passed away tragically, and due to an inspiring chance encounter with Tom's shoes and a wife who is a apparel technical designer, it was decided that they could use their skills to help non profits in memory of their friend Terry.
Today, for every pair of underwear purchased, TOO donates a pair to either a Woman's shelters, Woman's addiction centres and Rape Crisis Centers. Why Underwear? Well they found out that it was the most necessary and under served item donated.. Let's face it, lots of people give away used clothes, but used underwear? No one wants someone else's hand-me-downs, and many of the woman and children arriving at these Emergency centers come with just the clothes on their backs. Part of rebuilding confidence is a feeling of security and being properly clothed.
So far, TOO has established their organizaiton and are helping over 40 partner non profits across the USA. Well done TOO!!!
Hr1 Oops! A Krispy Kreme donut store in the U.K. launched the KKK club (Krispy Kreme Klub). They say it was an innocent mistake and the corporate office quickly scrubbed the event and all promotional materials.
An article for the University of Houston Daily Cougar’s sex week issue argues that the LGBTQ community focuses too much on white gay men. Here we go again .....
Hr2 Liberal radio host Bob Kincaid says that the CSX freight-rail company is a bigger threat to Americans than ISIS is. Are you kidding?
Kyle Olson with EAG News talks about teacher benefits, days off, and how much is enough... or too much? Banking sick days until retirement hits school budgets hard with liability they aren't always prepared for. Sometimes as much as $30,000...
A Shreveport, LA "Little Free Library" receives a "cease and desist" letter. Because shutting down "commercial enterprises" like this in neighborhoods that are not "zoned" for libraries...
Hr3 Author Jay Cost talks about corruption in BOTH parties and his new book "A Republic No More: Big Government and the Rise of American Political Corruption." He says the biggest difference between the 2 parties is in the grassroots.
North Carolina is trying to train its educators to be more effective and “equitable” in the classroom by helping them “rank their societal privilege.” We can't label kids as boys and girls, but we can label them as privileged or not. No wonder we're ranked so low in language and math skills worldwide!
The sitcom, The Haves and the Have Nots, by Tyler Perry is a huge hit! It is a compelling drama - or so I hear. I do not watch TV much.
In reality, many Christians are among the 'have nots'. They are in line for hand-outs! Christians are tithing less, finding it hard to give when they look at what they do have through eyes of scarcity. Many believe wealth in the Bible to be an Old Testement experience that has no place in the New Testement, nor in the current age. The Christians that are wealthy today are publicly chastised in the media as if having wealth is a crime, or a privilege only for those of the world.
We cannot GIVE what we do not HAVE! To be generous, does start with a mindset to be generous, but many who want to give, find a moment of true pain when they know they cannot afford to. They too, need the handout. YOU CAN'T GIVE WHAT YOU DO NOT HAVE! - The Profitable Steward should seek to HAVE extra, to share!
Luke 3:11 "He answered, “Whoever has two coats should share with somebody who has none, and whoever has food should do the same.”
"Whoever has two [ ] should share" Having TWO is having MORE THAN YOU CAN USE OR NEED! When you only have enough FOR YOU, you ARE NOT among those with TWO - who now have the ability and privilege, to share. Become part of the group of THOSE WHO HAVE! Leave the group needing the handouts - THE HAVE NOTS! Join the Profitable Stewardship Community.

We all have them. These are clever, and sometimes not so clever, tactics of the enemy to get you off your square, your grind, your PURPOSE. We are going to expose these tacky attempts to divert us, and come out VICTORIOUS!!! Join me and my co-host Tyrone Tyson as we go in on DISTRACTIONS!!!!
Some will order the event on pay-per-view, some will not. Many will watch through alternative means or go to fight parties. After Saturday, all will look for a new statement on the legacy of the victor, for better or worse.
On the best Saturday in sports, the high stakes playoff games of the NBA and NHL, the intrigue of baseball, the shoehorned "me too!" end of the NFL Draft and the Kentucky Derby are actually preludes to a historic evening in Las Vegas.
On a Wednesday edition of The Exchange, Sumit and Jason are joined by The Sports Fan Journal's boxing and MMA columnist Paul Navarro as they will discuss the welterweight megafight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. They will not only dive into their observations of the fight itself, but the controversies around it. With boycott calls as well as the well-sourced Deadspin article regarding Mayweather's history with domestic violence, what will still end up being the most lucrative fight card in boxing history is also one with an omnipotent morality play.
They will also discuss where the sport has been trending with its increased presence on television thanks Al Haymon's multi-channel Premier Boxing Champions series.
